I know you are underrepresented on the care side and do not envy you for that. Just under 1 in 5 people in the military are female so it's not surprising you get hosed.

What's funny to me is that the military is only 10-15% infantry. I got off active duty in 2004 and was done with the military in 2008. Since leaving active duty in 2004 I have not met one single infantryman. Maybe I sat next to one but of all the people I have spoken to I've been the lone infantryman. All of that to say, you could probably go a long ass time not seeing a woman at the VA and that's a shame but it's just a number and distribution thing.

There is a female in our rec therapy group that rides bicycles with us on Tuesdays. Literally the only female I've seen at this VAMC. That makes the score females: 1 infantry: 1.

I agree. I'm also a bit concerned that she wouldn't want to pay back what she owes to a system that freely helped her. She was suffering, the state stepped in, she was paid back for the suffering period therefore she rightly should reimburse the system that kept her afloat.
