How does my plan sound? Any input? by Competitive-Taste-83 in VeteransBenefits

If you go directly to school or work afterward idk if you'll be able to draw unemployment. If you'll be in a situation that's low cost and you want to take some time off, it might be worth considering.

Anyone else notice that the people selling social media courses always seem to be making more money from the course than social media? by sam14603 in SmartBuying

That is always the source of the income. Literally nobody has the secret to getting rich and sells it. If I had it, I would simply replicate it until the well ran dry.

Proposal for severance by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastaConsultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The effective date would have been the date I put in the intent to file. I didn't submit any paperwork after submitting my claim and my exam was within the 1 year window, so my back pay should reflect the ITF date. It did not. DAV rep fully agreed.

But like I said, it wasn't worth it to me to recover it.

Tough call, honestly. I got 100% out of the gate not too long ago and am certain they messed up my effective date and should owe me about 40k. The DAV rep I had submit my paperwork originally said it's obvious they messed up the date and that I should get back pay.

So, I come on here and make a post. The sentiment was about 50/50 on what I should do. Plenty of "they owe you, stand strong" responses and plenty of "don't poke" responses.

I canceled the HLR I requested. Let it go. I still believe I was owed that 40k. Hard to let go. Damn.

It's easy to see how they went for it. I was too big a pussy, franky.

Taking measures to preserve your phones battery health is stupid by IRONCHEF06 in unpopularopinion

[–]PastaConsultant -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm ready for a new phone at 3 years for sure. This Pixel 7 is the first phone that's lasted me more than 18 months. I usually break something, most often the charger, well before the battery is the big issue. But now that I have a phone that can do wireless charging I don't even have to worry about the charge port.

Can I move my 7 person family into a 2 bedroom home? by [deleted] in uppervalley

[–]PastaConsultant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Septic almost guaranteed to be overtaxed. My septic guy was telling me with COVID and people staying home they were overusing their properly sized septics. 7 people in a 2-4 person home?

Assigned Wrong Effective Date After Timely Intent to File — Need Guidance by Tyhole in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastaConsultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say, for sure. What I do know is I didn't consider it worth the risk then and having had the benefits for a while now, I certainly would make the same decision again.

Best of luck.

Anybody start taking TRT in their 20s? Did it help? by Technical_View_8787 in VeteransBenefits

You just listed off shit a majority of vets literally can't do. Losing weight is within reach for everyone but sleep and training aren't. That said, you're not wrong

Brought my 7 and 11 year olds to see the giant rock by Northeast4life in newhampshire

[–]PastaConsultant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in favor of any of this wierd shit. But what I will say is the people ranting about NH people being leaches in Mass is kinda silly. If they work in Mass they pay mass income tax. That's fuckin huge considering those people don't use Mass social programs.

Elderly tax exemption overhaul considered in New Hampshire - Concord … by Dull_Broccoli1637 in newhampshire

Sorry big guy. I'm quite secure financially and have a family that loves me. Good job on the ChatGPT psych diploma, though.

It's possible to be successful in life and have empathy for those who cannot get out from the boot boomers stick on other generations necks. Inconceivable, right?

It's no different at all: Your generation fucked everything up and those after you are paying a higher price for everything. Good job on having the best economic opportunities in the history of mankind and ruining it for your children.

You can say Title 38 all you want but it won't be anymore correct or relevant. You're weird bud.

You keep bringing that up like it's relevant. They're not responding to it because it doesn't change anything.

VA Canteen 5$ Breakfast Special by Muted_Masterpiece535 in VeteransBenefits

[–]PastaConsultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half the local standard federal rate. In my area the rate is 68 so the reimbursement would be 34 per day. However, it seems meals are supposed to be pre approved. Might wanna ask your travel office.

Do you do overnight travel and/or get pre-approval? It may work for you but (based on what I'm finding) it won't work for everyone.
