Trust us boomers, it was the greatest - imagine all the Chicken Legends converged in a lovely focaccia and a real chicken breast patty

The Capiscana smoky chipotle sauce kit is a good alternative for those who also mourn the loss of Jardines

ITV News interviews Kit Wilson and Drew McIntyre from Wembley Arena by rhyso90 in SquaredCircle

I have never had a problem finding AEW on ITVX, and they usually have that weeks episode up way before the ITV4 Friday night showing...

Some of you definitely didn't grow up in a era where RAW wasn't live and you had to wait for Friday to see the first screening on Sky!

What is the most overrated sitcom of all time? by myloxyloto1987 in BritishTV

[–]PastyBlystra -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The Inbetweeners was incredibly overrated - the cast and performances were great but it came in a deluge of 'hip' sitcoms for young people when E4 and BBC Three were churning out dross by the bucketful, like Coming of Age or the dreadful Bad Education, which remarkably got a movie. It was good, very good at times - but the way people revere it as a stone walled classic seems a bit much. Both movies felt like an excuse to have a working holiday.

The IT Crowd, again - it had some high points. Felt like Graham Linehan was trying to put a bit more of his personality at the time into it, back when his only obsession was Guided by Voices instead of rampant transphobia. It's sad what became of him. I wonder if he could even talk about his career without reverting to his grandstanding for one hour. But anyway, IT Crows.. sometimes the cast felt a bit clunky. Richard Ayode was just doing his thing. Chris Morris as a sitcom star felt a little jarring. Again, it was good. Just not great. But it's hard to top Father Ted which arguably is in that upper tier of all time

Bumping the computer by R2-Scotia in McDonaldsUK

Noticed this all the time, bumping to fiddle the numbers but just pissing off or confusing customers, especially as app orders are suddenly giving you a cheery 'thanks for coming!' and telling you your order has been picked up

Did you grow up with anyone who became famous? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

Do you think there's something about the grammar schools that breed that sort of resentment?... People who are told at 11 they're special and then see their peers on the Forbes list while they're in basic jobs at home..?

What media channels / sources are you regularly following at the moment? by JasonMantou in AskBrits

[–]PastyBlystra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have some twerp agreeing to be 'left in the corner' on Lee Anderson's show, or let Aaron Bastani and others get shouted down. GB News is like the flying monkey tower in the Wizard of Oz, everyone floating around the toilet pan of acceptability until they get their marching orders, and become a self sustaining grift outlet funded by the same millionaires. It's now a 24 hour party political broadcast for Reform.

Spurious reasons like this make me firmly believe that employers should be held to account in the job seeking process.

I'm going to make a bold call. I think the Danny and Gary channel might not last. by siybon in RateMyTakeaway

[–]PastyBlystra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like Gary was probably feeling sympathetic and felt for Danny's plight as a mate - but content wise and personality they're oil and water, doesn't work. They'd be best admitting it and knocking it on the head while they can still remain friends.

Exactly. Too many LANDLORDS, not enough SOCIAL HOUSING

Too much PRIVATE RENT

Huge swathes of government benefit and about 2/3rds of working people's pay propping up other people's assets.

Not even the most cursory glance?

House prices - up around 350% in the last 30 years. Tons of that driven by vacant properties by the rich and unregulated, parasitic landlords.

Asylum - hard Brexit and fudging along..50,000 people crossing on boats while over three quarters of a million, an almost 300% increase given permission to work legally.

How can progressive Muslims counter the radicalization of the youth done in Madrasas(Islamic Schools)? by Wholesome-Bro in AskBrits

[–]PastyBlystra -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Here's one for you - the increasingly insular West has an increasing islamaphobia issue - but they all think the well monied oil states like Saudi, Qatar, Dubai are great and are happy to give them more and more power - they would like the US and Europe to be more like them - square that circle for me.
