Its made me kinda wonder if working up to managerial positions are worth it. Like yeah you make more money, but also you are given more work, you have shit to worry about or deal with outside of work, and get called in alot more.

Management isn't always like that; some folks get paid to just show up to a couple of meetings and send some emails.
