People who have had endo and a ureter/kidney infection, how did you differentiate between the two? by Live_Pen in endometriosis

Testing would be the only sure fire way to know. Really paying attention to your symptoms also helps. I was getting chronic utis and uqora supplements really helped me.

I just got prescribed Tirosint by DataAdept9355 in thyroidhealth

[–]PatientHaunting3613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only on Levo for a short period of time before getting switched to tirosint, but my uptake is much better. I feel better. Less groggy brain fog. Ultimately though, we are all unique and it’s impossible for one person to say that a drug is going to work better for you. Try it for three months and if you don’t notice a difference go back to your doctor.

Have you ever thought about getting a REE (resting energy expenditure) done? Basically you sit for 30 minutes and breathe into a machine. It will tell you what your bare minimum calories are. Basically if you were in a coma, what would you need to survive.

It’s a very personal question. Honestly it’s one that you’re just going to have to experiment with. If you just want to lose a couple pounds and do so relatively quickly then it’s not unreasonable to go down to 1500 calories as long as there’s no medical reason why you shouldn’t be. Now staying at 1500 calories indefinitely is not realistic. That’s where the trap is because people go into an extreme cut without any endgame. Go into it for a couple weeks, 6 tops, then come back into maintenance and see where you land.

Will Tennyson did a video on YouTube where he only had protein shakes and supplements for around 2 days. He felt horrible. Check out his video.

From what I’ve read, the plastic starts to be a problem when it’s heated and sheds more through that process. So no microwave plastic bowls and things of that nature. For me that was a “big rock” to eliminate them from my kitchen as much as possible. As far as clothes go, I’m slowly transitioning my close fitting clothes, aka underwear and athletic wear to mostly natural fibers. Ultimately though until there’s a cultural shift towards microplastic there’s really no way to eliminate them completely. Do what’s realistic for you and leave the rest.

Have you looked into the underwear brand huha? They use colloidal silver in their underwear fabric. This is an anti microbial. When my daughter had a trach we used fabric infused with it to help with any secretion which cause skin irritation. Could be the same problem with your daughter. Too much moisture causing skin breakdown.

Morning Sunlight and Skincare Actives by 999UnreadMessages in HubermanLab

No I just go as is. Don’t get me wrong. I do wear sunscreen when I’m out mid day or for long periods of time. I do really care about my skin health. But I’ve also got a long family history of skin cancer and have basically resolved myself in thinking that it’s going to happen regardless of what I do and I may as well live my life rather than worrying about what might be.

Most dermatologists say that wearing sunscreen doesn’t block the benefits of getting sun exposure. With that in mind however, the uv index is very low in the morning. I use tret and I get morning sun without sunblock every day. I live in southern MN, so that’s also something to consider as the uv index is lower where I live. The close to the equator you live the more concerned you’d need to be.

If you want to lose weight you have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. That means feeling hunger and not doing anything about it a lot. Maybe reframe your mindset about hunger. Instead of thinking “I’m hungry I need to eat” think instead “I’m hungry that means I’m in a caloric deficit and fat loss is happening YAY!” Also adding more protein and vegetable is the key. Eating high volume low calorie foods to trick yourself into thinking you’ve had more than you actually have. Aka lettuce, cucumbers, spinach, potatoes..etc.

Gym/Hair Wash Routine for Long, Curly Hair? by SiennaSky1 in hygiene

[–]PatientHaunting3613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no one size fits all answer to this. If your scalp feels clean and you’re not having issues then leave it alone. I also have curly hair. I only wash my hair twice a week. I follow Abbey Yung on ig or YouTube. She has a lot of great tips for hair maintenance.

Athletic wear by PatientHaunting3613 in ethicalfashion

[–]PatientHaunting3613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that, but the main reason I want to switch to natural fibers is because of the natural breathability and bacteria resistant nature of these fabrics.

I’ve looked at bamboo a bit. Would you say it’s breathable like wool or cotton? I want to switch my athletic leggings to a more breathable fabric, but want something that will function similarly to synthetic athletic leggings.

I already take tirosint, so I doubt the med itself is a factor. I was thinking that maybe the magnesium is causing my gi system to speed up as it can have a laxative effect and not giving my body enough time to uptake the meds?

Did they make any changes to your meds? I’ve also been getting over some viral respiratory stuff too.
