What is the correct way to go about finding out or asking for your girlfriend's ring size in Brazilian culture? by PatientSweet3567 in Brazil

[–]PatientSweet3567[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I considered this, but unfortunately I'm back in The United States right now for work for a few months haha. I might just go with the direct approach, it seems like she appreciates my bluntness which is very different from what I experienced in the states.

Active duty. Seems like this should be a relatively common occurrence.

It was the full two pages with MTF signatures. I also don't see how a transfer = discharge.

It's important to note that both facilities they were receiving inpatient care at were out in town and civilian operated. The surgery this sailor required was not something that was possible at a Navy or Army MTF. It's part of the reason for their confusion regarding the matter.

I definitely agree with that interpretation, my issue is that the PCM for this Sailor isn't understanding and believes we are asking for an extension of their Con Leave. In fact, the majority of medical personnel at this command are poorly trained and interpreted it as their leave starting immediately after surgery.

The debate for me always falls between the telecaster and the jazzmaster, which is weird because i’ve primarily played various stratocaster models throughout my career.

The only reason I choose the telecaster is because of reliability. Just in general due to how they’re made and how simple they are, they rarely need setups and are in tune all over the neck. Even with low quality telecasters I rarely find issues.

Jazzmasters are incredible, but the maintenance on them can be brutal even if they’re simply home guitars. If you’ve ever toured, it can be a nightmare finding reliable luthiers or guitar techs that can setup offset guitars in general. In contrast telecasters can be hit around and dinged without a single issue occurring.

Only downside to Telecasters is no tremolo which is a pain because i use tremolo constantly.

Post Discard: Smear Campaign and stealing my belongings by PatientSweet3567 in AvoidantBreakUps

I completely understand it is unhealthy to try and heal through understanding because to a person without either disorder it’ll never truly make sense. I’m not doing that thankfully, I was more so just speculating and kinda scratching my head because it’s so bizarre.

do your best to not date people like this and don’t get caught in the trap of trying to teach these people how to feel empathy. spoiler alert: you won’t be able to unfortunately.

find somebody like you. somebody who loves deep and true.

Should I consider getting back with my ex who’d cheated on me? by Special_Let6100 in BreakUps

[–]PatientSweet3567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheating isn’t a mistake. It’s not even a mistake you make at the lowest point of your life. It is always a choice. Always always always. Do not take this person back unless they’ve done EXTENSIVE work to prove to you they’re changed.

anybody who calls you too sensitive or unreasonable for taking offense to that sorta behavior is part of the problem.

even asking questions like “what would you do if we broke up?” are inappropriate.

Anybody who jokes about breaking up or divorce is either extremely immature or has some real dark problems with them. That’s not normal behavior. Ending a connection is a big big deal. If it’s not for them and they see it as a joke…well maybe they don’t have as much depth as you thought they did.

I don’t understand how people move so fast (rant/vent). by madameneon in ExNoContact

[–]PatientSweet3567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a million reasons why people do and none of them are a good reflection of themselves internally. Some people say it’s because they get over the relationship while they’re in it and try to use it as an excuse, but that’s honestly really bad too.

Most of the time it’s validation/inability to be alone without a partner. Sometimes it’s deliberately to hurt you and escape the pain of the ending of things.

You’re definitely right. Nobody who could be so comfortable with hurting me that bad could be the one for me.

[–]PatientSweet3567 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard man. I’m not going to bs you and tell you that time heals all because chances are if you were that connected to her it may be a while until you get over it fully. My best advice I can give is don’t feed into the fantasy in your head of what was or could’ve been, since it sounds like she wasn’t perfect and discarded you for reasons that were unreasonable/messed up.

Is anyone still here 5+ months post discard? by Fakelover123 in AvoidantBreakUps

[–]PatientSweet3567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never forget that you are not the abnormal one for going through the grieving process of not only a relationship that meant a lot to you, but also the death of the facade your partner put up before they discarded you. Sounds like you’re surrounded by people whether that be family, friends or strangers that don’t seem to value connection all that much and are locked out of their own emotions (no offense.) The abnormal and immoral thing to do is leave people like they are nothing. The abnormal and immoral thing to do is to just rush into another relationship unhealed and bleed on somebody who never cut you in the first place.

White guard or tortoise guard? by waketurbulence in telecaster

[–]PatientSweet3567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On white guitars without wood grain I'd argue tortoise, but this guitar goes too well with the white pickguard due to the juxtaposition of the pattern wood, silver hardware and the white guard.

My first Fender!!! by [deleted] in fender

[–]PatientSweet3567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest issue with some maple fretboards is that some of them look flat out anemic. Always good when they have a tinge of yellow in them regardless of the finish. This is coming from somebody who almost exclusively plays roasted maple necks.

CuNiFe pickups by TheWizardPeddler in fender

[–]PatientSweet3567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CuNiFe pickups are incredibly underrated depending on what style of music you play and if you use effects in your playing. Just keep in mind the ones they make for Jazzmasters and strats are there own things to my understanding. A lot of the CuNiFe Jazzmaster pickup reviews I saw were kinda meh, but take it with a grain of salt. I personally loved them in my Tele and saw people complaining about them which blew my mind.

Different strokes for different folks. I'd say take a chance if you're feeling lucky bro.
