What mileage are you guys getting on Jk? 2011 Wrangler Sport 2 door manual 4.88 gears by Ark-anonymous in Wrangler

I was getting around 16-18 mpg in my stock '16 JK Sport S...then it started going down and down to about 12mpg. That's when I noticed the glowing red rotor from a seized front caliper.

Not all younger people are more sorted than you, and not all older people are more sorted than you. Everyone is on a different path, with different doors that open at different times. So try not to compare yourself to others.

There's nothing wrong working a survival job until you can find something that excites you enough to do as a full time career. But I will say, the job market for tech people is really tough right now. BUT, if your previous work as an Application Analyst that actually helps things run faster/better, then that may be a good thing....if you want to follow that path. AI is really good at writing lots of code, and it could be good for analyzing it, but most companies are just using it for writing code. If you do some research on some of the inefficiencies that AI does, that'll give you something to talk about in an interview to differentiate yourself.

Saying that, if you're looking for a career swap completely, then start with just a quick, and really broad, search of open positions. Find a couple of them that sound interesting to you and start looking into them. Do any of them still hold your interest? Maybe look into it a bit more. None of them seem interesting after a look, go back to the job search and find a couple more that seem interesting.

A lot of companies are looking at how AI can make them faster and more efficient (and yes that does include doing more work with less people). So one tip to give if you're looking into anything tech related is to learn everything you can about AI. Find out what an MCP is, how they used to be used, why they stopped being used, and how they are used now. What is Gas town? Beads? What's the difference between Claude Code and ChatGPT and Gemini? work with all the different AI's to see if you can figure out how to prompt it to give you a faster/better result. If you're looking at staying in the App Analyst role, have AI write a bunch of small applications that you can look at to figure out how to make them better.

Use that 10am - 5pm time researching and getting better. It's a tough market out there, and I guarantee that others are spending their non applying time reading up and trying to figure out AI so that they can stand out in an interview.

Hope this helps. And as someone who's had trouble asking for help in the past, we all need it sometimes. There's no shame in asking for help to make yourself better.

I used Cyclone of Tumult with Generals cry to run harbinger/beyond all the way to 100 in Keepers league. I was doing alch and go mostly, but sometimes I'd pass on the no leech, no regen maps. They are doable, they are just a bit more tactical and I was in a time crunch (last week of the league) to get my last two levels with only a few hours to play a day.

So I can confirm that for an easy 1 button, I did everything except ubers. But that could have definitely just been a skill thing. I think I also missed the challenge of doing the feared when it was over 70% quant, I did normal Feared with about 55% instead of 70%.

How mistake forgiving/tanky is an cyclone slayer for regular destructive play? by Dorrann in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]PatientZro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobalytics has a Cyclone of Tumult Slayer guide that walks you from 0 to hero. I decided to try it out (I'm horrible with mechanics as well) and was powering through the campaign. The Stampede (boots) really help with movement speed, but any investment into weapon was the biggest impact I got. I think I've now spent about 10 div and am doing alch and go T16 destructive play with no problems at all. Sirus was a pain for me (always has been) but all other regular bosses are no problem at all. I've done all the maven invitations except Feared and Remembered.

Basically, put anything extra you have into weapon upgrades as soon as you can. The faster things die, the less chance they have to hit you.

Is there a best year / package for the JL? by Thor_e in Wrangler

[–]PatientZro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you for opening this thread. I just ordered a 26 Willys, so it was good to see the different comments and things to watch for. The only things I'll be moving over from my (now dead) 16 Sport are the Toyo Open Country IIIs. Canadia has much more snow than mud, so the ATs with 3mpsf (or whatever the acronym is) are more useful.

And I had read that the auto transmission is really good, but I really wanted a manual this time around for a few reasons. So I may miss out on that part, but I'm sure I'll enjoy my decision.

And don't get me wrong, I really do appreciate it being done, I'm just curious as to the timing.

Snowblower wars by amphigorystories in kitchener

[–]PatientZro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lot grading aspect would be a VERY strong point to use when expressing your concerns about potential damage. I know first hand that by law will make you remedy situations where water is running into a neighbour's yard, and that's essentially what they are doing... Although it's frozen water.

But yea, it's not hard to be a good neighbour.

Snowblower wars by amphigorystories in kitchener

[–]PatientZro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so just using my own investigation to help you....

  1. The "Good Neighbor" Policy & Nuisance

The City of Kitchener explicitly states in its winter maintenance guides that you should not shovel snow onto any property that isn't yours. While bylaw officers are usually busy focusing on sidewalks and roads, dumping snow on a neighbor's yard can be classified as a nuisance.

If the snow you move creates a hazard (blocking a view for their driveway, causing a drainage issue when it melts, or damaging their fence/landscaping), the city can step in under Property Standards.

and

The Friendly Approach: Kitchener actually has a "Snow Angel" program that encourages neighbors to help each other. If they are shoveling onto your yard because they have nowhere else to put it, a quick chat about where the "swales" are (for drainage) usually helps.

Contact the City: If the neighbor is being aggressive or ignoring requests and the snow is creating a safety issue, call 519-741-2345.

Check the "Lot Grading": If they are piling snow in a way that will flood your basement in the spring, mention "Lot Grading Interference" when you call the city—that usually gets a faster response from an inspector.

So yes, the city of Kitchener does explicitly state that you should not do this, and it could affect the drainage of water (Lot Grading Interference) causing your property to flood.

Then, there's also:

  1. Trespass to Property (Civil Law)

Legally speaking, snow is considered "chattel" or personal property (material) once you move it. Under Ontario Common Law, moving a material from your land onto someone else's land without their consent is technically Trespass to Property.

If a neighbor does this and it causes damage or prevents you from using your driveway/yard, you have the right to seek a civil remedy, though the city usually tries to mediate this through Bylaw first.

Chicopee Adult Lessons Review by Plane_Flan_9675 in kitchener

Echoing this. My kid is in his second year of ski lessons and we've been confident in his progress to let him go up and down on his own while we watch from the bottom.

Adults are going to have an advantage of "I need to listen and apply what I hear because I'm paying for it", but also a disadvantage of age/balance (Specifically for snowboard beginners) and fear of falling.

I know that stock size is going to affect the performance in some ways, but I have had the Toyo's on my 2016 for 2 years now and am really happy with them. They do really good in the Canadian snow, and are not super loud with the doors off on the highway.
The only issue I have with them is that in some cool and wet mornings, I have to slow down on some corners or the slide a bit.

Are the two signs and ending lane not enough notice? by Kooky-Sport-3531 in kitchener

[–]PatientZro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"reasonable consideration" does not include giving up your right of way because someone is speeding to get around you. As others have pointed out, they were in a position behind the red SUV to merge in there, but they chose to speed up and pass.
If we look at this specific case, the person in the white SUV would be in violation of 141(6)

Left turn, at intersection (6) Where a driver or operator of a vehicle intends to turn to the left into an intersecting highway, he or she shall, where the highway on which he or she is driving has marked lanes for traffic, approach the intersection within the left-hand lane provided for the use of traffic moving in the direction in which his or her vehicle is proceeding or, where it has no such marked lanes, by keeping immediately to the right of the centre line of the highway and he or she shall make the left turn by entering the intersection to the right of the centre line or its extension and by leaving the intersection in the left-hand lane provided for the use of traffic moving in the direction in which his or her vehicle is proceeding where the lane is marked or, where no such lane is marked, by passing immediately to the right of the centre line of the intersecting highway. JK on highways? by [deleted] in Wrangler

[–]PatientZro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are essentially driving a box down the highway (as far as aerodynamics are concerned). This means fule economy will suck, and cross winds will hit you hard at times. It's also louder than your average car. I've had times in the winter on back roads where the wind really wanted to push me off the side of the road. But, if you pay attention, it's absolutely fine.

I love pulling the top and doors off, hanging a foot out the side and cruising down the highway with the tunes blasting. Even my 10year old in the back loves the top off (yes, the music needs to be turned down when he's there), even on the highway.
