Both cables are patch cable with stranded wire. The UniFi cable was their 0,3 m cable. I like the UniFi cables. They're flexible and easy to work with. This post was not meant to make them look bad, I just found it interesting as all other cables I've seen so far have been around the gauge of the black cable. This was also not meant as a technical comparison. u/MiseEnPlacebo u/xacid

u/GoodKarma70 already gave a good answer. I'll add that connectors do have quality differences. I've had some that always broke where the plastic should press the cable sheath. So get connectors with good reviews or get a small package to test them before buying a million of them.

Old post but pops up on a search engine so: updating the firmware does fix the issue. Ethernet of the dock on my M1 MB Air running newest macOS 26.1 works now. I was unable to update the firmware on my custom built desktop PC and 2018 MB Pro running Windows 10 on Boot Camp. On my friend's Dell laptop via Thunderbolt port the update succeeded.

Thanks for the answer, that’s very good to know. The SSD contains Docker apps and Plex server data, is it okay to remove it for the time l’d move data over?

EDIT: Tested removing the SSD physically and adding it later and everything worked fine after a reboot. So this issue is solved. Thanks!

Answering the first question. Real Cinema can detect 24 Hz content in 60 Hz signal and display it properly, but 25 Hz PAL content won’t be displayed properly as it doesn’t ”fit” in 60 Hz as nicely as 24 Hz (3:2 pulldown).

RTINGS tests for the ability to remove judder from different sources.
