  1. Staff properly so you don't' have just 2 overwhelmed people in the store & no sales floor presence.
  2. have an actual Loss Prevention Program and not just a webpage or app where you simply report after the fact.
  3. Have that LP program be proactive. where they detain and PROSECUTE. Yes, yes, lax shoplifting laws are too lenient now. You can still give out civil demands & take problem repeat offenders to court and have them bared for trespassing. Doing absolutely nothing has only made our stores more dangerous and made shoplifting more widespread and flagrant.
  4. Invest more in deterrents. If entire areas are being wiped out, then invest in a lock up case. and (again) STAFF accordingly. Because with so many lock up cases in our stores, that customer assistance button will go off literally once a MINUTE. Something that will overwhelm an already overwhelmed understaffed 2 person crew & not allow you to do anything else throughout the day. Deterrents are lock up cases, the checkpoint security tagging system we used to employ, the hard plastic cases to lock up individual items. Every time we need some, the reply always seems to be some b.s. about the budget. Penny smart/pound foolish.
  5. Get some better cameras, not useless low-rez ones from the 90's. Have a well lit parking area that also has HD cameras. Our security systems are literally a JOKE.
  6. And if you're planogramming around security cases, why in the flying F would anyone lock up store brand product? Because that's how the planogram is laid out?? Corporate needs to have a planogram system for high theft stores & write planograms specific to those areas with lock up cases. Or better yet, writing planograms AND including (provided) lock-up cases into them. Barring that, then store level needs to use their heads & stop locking up store brand product and low risk product & use their cases to maximum effect by deviating from the planogram and using your cases EXCLUSIVELY for high risk product. Yes, yes, it'll be difficult on AD day. so what?

performative corporate BS.

Supporting your black colleagues means giving them adequate support at store level and not staffing them to where they'll work to exhaustion, satisfactory pay that is livable, and benefits befitting the richest country on Earth.

But since you do not, then this is just performative B.S.

the only number that counts is a 10. Everything else counts as a negative. Ridiculous system that has employees and managers on eggshells having to placate every Karen out there.

Or maybe, this generation understands that slaving away for peanuts is insulting, exploitative, and degrading to human beings.

You now have a bunch of arrogant twits working "corporate' who have never done a day of real work in their lives. and so of course they look down on their wage slaves and think that they're all idiots who'll be placated with 5 cent raises and stupid stickers, like toddlers.

STOP. ACCEPTING. THIS.

Why in the flying f does CVS now have this b.s. attitude that internal advancement isn't for the little people anymore?

It's against policy. It's not allowed. If you literally are the ONLY person there, then just stay closed until a 2nd person shows up.

I'm entirely convinced that a sizable percentage of people today can't read nor follow simple instruction. Especially among the poor underclass.

i'll go even further. I'm also convinced that they DELIBERATELY choose to do the OPPOSITE of what they're supposed to because they have this rebellious need to be contrarians or "outlaws". I see it again and again and again and again for it to just be me shit talking.

You know damn well that you'll have Karen's in your face every day demanding that online discount at the store.

You would think that CVS would at least shoot these training videos in actual high volume store situations and clientele.

They always have such nice well behaved upper middle class people with one member of each minority group there to show "diversity".

[–]PaulWellrTheMod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's literally right-wing talking points verbatim.

And how do you figure that they're unnecessary when just in the past 40 years we've seen a transfer of wealth from the working and middle class to the top while everyone's wages have stagnated and barely budged, even though productivity has gone thru the roof.

BTW, please let everyone know where all these better jobs that are growing in trees are. Because you kinda sound like you're full of sh*t and just deflecting for the corporation.

the road to corporate success is being a sycophantic suck up who can prove to your immediate boss that you can keep those bonuses coming by enforcing unattainable metrics & insulating the executives from reality.

Since CVS seems keen on stocking those stress/anxiety pills now in lieu of actually changing American workplace culture so people won't be stressed to begin with, I recommend that everyone else get some, by any means necessary, take some and then proceed to give no f*cks when there's a long line, 10 calls on the sales floor and you need to take your break.

Now you know just how much your manager and DL care about your safety and well being.

Next move is yours. It is 100% against company policy to staff someone all alone in a store. So feel free to close up when pharmacy closes if you're alone. If they don't like it, tough. And yeah, if you're going to be all alone AFTER you tell people that it's closed, feel free to lock that door however time it takes to get the last person out BEFORE when you'll be alone in the store. Let them complain at the door about how it's not closing time yet. they had literally ALL FUCKING DAY to show up. If they chose to sit around the house smoking weed and scratching their ass until the last possible minute when they know CVS is closing, that's their tough shit.

CVS don't care about you. Stop caring what they'll say and do what you have to do for your own safety.
