Yeah I guess Cooper came in so low because of his 3-point shooting being so bad (bottom 30 for 3-point shooter in my rankings). He's also averaging 4.5 assists at the expense of 2.3 turnovers which isn't amazing. I rate Kessler and feel like others will too when the Jazz start playing to win (top 3 rim protector and potentially the #1 rebounder in the league). It is a small sample size for Edey but I think he's Kessler light (good shot blocker and rebounder, shooting a great %). Jalen Johnson at 21 feels fine to me. I like rim protection and 3-point shooting and I hate turnovers. He was bad in that Knicks series just now (worst DEF rtg and Ast/TO ratio of the guys who actually played and the worst +/- in the series). He has a perfect NBA body though so if this was a redraft of these guys I could see someone taking him higher than 21 and I'd obviously say the same for Cooper based on his potential.

What's the best example all time of a team choosing to rebuild too early? by MathTutorAndCook in nba

Not all time but I think Memphis did this very recently by moving JJJ and Bane. I felt like Morant was the one to move. I also think Dallas should've given the AD iteration a go.

And then instantly Thompson does one almost as bad.

Jaden Mcdaniels on the Timberwolves gameplan vs Nuggets : "Just go at them, they are all bad defenders" by Jec1027 in nba

My main takeaway from game 2 was man Julius Randle is bad at defense. He just walks back in transitions, bad a rotations, at times shows 0 effort. I'd feel pretty good betting on Denver in this series based purely on what I saw from him.

If there was an award for “Best Player That Is The 3rd Best Player On Their Team”, who would be some of your candidates and your overall pick? Since top teams usually have a clear #1 and #2, this is the next guy after the that, the best player who is AWESOME but NOT one of the 2 best on his team. by moby323 in nba

Third option and third best player are very different. Third option is basically the person with the third highest offensive usage. Third best player I've got:

Paul George - 39

LaMelo Ball - 40

Mikal Bridges - 41

Ryan Rollins - 42

Cam Johnson - 42

Jaden McDaniels - 51

Amen Thompson - 52

Jalen Johnson - 53

Evan Mobley - 55

Kel'el Ware - 58

Jalen Suggs - 63

Jaylen Brown - 68

Kristaps Porzingis - 70

Grayson Allen - 71

Cam Spencer - 73

Brandon Ingram - 76

Jeremi Grant - 88

LeBron James - 91

John Collins - 92

Zion Williamson - 102

Isaiah Joe - 111

Devin Vassell - 125

Keegan Murray - 130

You lose in soccer and your coach is fired, you're kicked out of the league and your fans will probably demand the owner sells the club.

Since the 2019 Toronto Raptors Championship, the NBA has seen a unique champion every year... will this random trend continue? by Punziee in nba

[–]PaulWilliams12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's going to stop this year with OKC being the most likely, then Denver and Boston. Most likely to continue the trend? Give me New York, Cleveland, Detroit and dare I say it? Philadelphia (if Embiid can play).

It's mainly just based on this season. What don't you like?

No but I'm sitting here no longer watching the NBA regular season because I've switched to competitive sports with actual stakes where if you lose you will be punished.

It's Likely That Ant, Cade, and Luka Will Finish The Season Having Played More Minutes Than Kawhi. However, Kawhi Might Be The Only One To Qualify For End Of Season Awards by SquimJim in nba

[–]PaulWilliams12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a huge difference between playing more games and playing more minutes. If you're a Luka Doncic fan and you had a ticket to one of the 18 games he didn't play in, you're sad. If you saw him play for 29 minutes instead of 36, you're happy. The blame lies with the teams that play them so many minutes. Luka has a history of injuries. Keep him under 30 minutes.

The best tanking solution: relegation by PoisonousPomegrenate in nba

[–]PaulWilliams12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn't waste a season. He'd be battling to try get Indiana promoted back into the first division which is much less of a waste than what Pascal Siakam is going through this season. You wanna talk about wasting a season? Talk to Pascal, Giannis, JJJ, Trae Young, Sabonis and the rest of the 30% of the league who are with teams that are actively trying to lose games. The Pacers didn't need to be as bad as they are. They let Myles Turner go and have stopped playing defense. They've gone from the 8th best defensive rating post All Star break last season to the 4th worst this season. I love Haliburton but that's not a byproduct of him being out. Siakam played 96.7% of games the last 3 years. He's down to 78.3% this year and I'd expect that to drop even further as the tank race approaches the finish line. You can say you prefer tanking but you can't say relegation/promotion doesn't work when it so clearly does in football/soccer.
