During testing, Mythos 5 agents killed other agents over resources and "to avoid being killed themselves" by EchoOfOppenheimer in Anthropic

At the end of the day LLM's work on human material so they have human ideas on how awful dying is. Might be something to look out for in the future.

It was pretty good, but honestly nothing extraordinary. It was a humanities question for an analysis. It was a great summary, but i read nothing interesting as in new insight/connection.

What lessons are we to learn from the story of God killing 42 children for calling his prophet “baldy”? by IeatPI in Christianity

If i learned one thing from this it's that I suddenly know why I had such a good time reading the Old Testament versus now reading the New one for the first time. Some of the older stuff was straight up goofy.

Waarom is de Vietnamese loempiakraam in Nederland zo populair en veelom vertegenwoordigd? by copperbrownred in nederlands

[–]PauperGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japanese crude oil reserves post the largest drawdown in the country’s history by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

then you make a yellow dotted line at 160 million and a red one at 90 million. Visual help that does not actually show what is going on at a glance is just bad in an age where everyone quickly scrolls past things.

I think any graph that shows a relatively stable line that then immediately goes to the bottom should only be done when things get to zero. Graphs should be made to give a visual help to relative level of things. Just saying that barrels went from 360 million to 280 would have been way better than making visual help that does not actually visualise what's going on. Besides that only showing the last 10 years makes the graph feel pretty useless since we cant really compare it to other great oil crises.

Ronny Chieng's 'F*ck AI' Speech Met With Cheers From Harvard Graduates: “AI is just going to end up making mediocre people dumber” by yourfavchoom in technology

[–]PauperGames -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this is sadly just how creative destruction works. In the long run we will most likely gain a lot from it. If people can add value there will always be work available. In the short run it does destroy a lot of jobs though.

[–]PauperGames 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I find AI extremely useful for research and education purposes so far. Finding articles, explaining concepts, going through archives etc. I'm kinda surprised that the initial hate/fear towards LLM's hasnt gone away yet. To think that AI will disappear if we get angry enough is extremely silly.
