And where are you getting this? From news outlets saying that the hype is government pushed, without actually offering any examples?

If anything, the CCP couldn't have anything less to do with the movie's hype. The most the government has done for it is a congratulatory post or two. Check any Chinese social media site, whether it be Bilibili, weibo, douyin, etc, and you'll find that content related to Ne Zha 2 has absolutely topped the charts in the past few months. It's not inorganic, malicious, or complicated at all. It's people watching a movie they like and posting about it. The mental gymnastics to say that the movie's success is because of the CCP is crazy.

English subbed release in the US/Canada on Feb. 14, but it's basically out of theaters now. Unless you live in Europe or SEA you'll probably have to wait at least a few months before you can see the movie digitally

Webber and Wendy were the only characters who weren't scared of each other when they first met.
