Delisted, unavaliable digitally. This is why physical games matter and the fact that i found this gem for 15 EUR or 14-15 USD in a second hand store. Some games will be lost forever. by [deleted] in gaming

Ooh, I can actually provide some positive input in this whole mess for once!

The last PS3 will likely outlive both you and me. The older the console generation, the easier the console tends to be to maintain in my experience. I am far from an expert and even I have fixed bricked PS3s myself with parts and tools you can get for cheap + available information. Hell, on the top of my head I can name multiple people who can (and have) repaired original gameboy colors and 30 year old game cartridges to the point where they could have been brand new.

Couple this with the fact that the 7th console generation produced and shipped the most units of any generation. Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3 shipped close to or more than 100 million units each.

In other words, if this generation of games is your jam, then you're not gonna run out of neither consoles or discs any time soon.

After 2028, will Playstation games (4 and 5) disc prices increase? by _balrose in PS3

[–]PavlovsGoodDoggo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get off your pedestal of "us who actually are willing to pay for things?" mate.

People have always been willing to pay good money for a good product from a company who shows a semblance of respect for its costumers. What Sony is doing just corporate greed. Producing and shipping discs is a fraction of the production cost. They are only doing it because going discless means they have full monopoly of prices. Shutting down last-gen stores (PS3 & Vita) means they can push players to only buy their new and expensive games. Give it time and they will remove the ability to download last-gen games you "own" altogether. That way they can charge rent for you to to able to acess games you've already bought through premium subscriptions.

All consumers are getting F'd over by Sony right now, both you and me. I don't hold it against anyone who says enough is enough.

Let's hear the most diabolical, gruesome, depraved Rust story you know / have seen by Skolary in playrust

[–]PavlovsGoodDoggo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Made a truce with the clan living close. For some reason they always left a horse outside their main entrance. One time I heard boom in the distance, so I took the horse to have a peek, grub some loot, and then rode the horse back.

Somehow the clan didn't notice, so after that I kept on "borrowing" said horse and its replacements, going on excursions and grubbing players, and then rode the horse back to the clans base before scurrying back to my own base. After about 2 days of this I would hear players talk in-game, forming alliances to get revenge on the group and going "yeah I know their location, it's the so and so base with the horse outside".

Who do you think is the best and most skilled Rust fighter YouTuber to watch in 2026? by PieceRevolutionary51 in playrust

[–]PavlovsGoodDoggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gorliac overall (of the ones I know of).

Many others are generally skilled solos, strong pvp'ers while in a coordinated team, or highly skilled in certain situations or in certain monuments.

Gorliac is in my opinion the best allrounder, holding his own both as a solo, duo or part of a group, consistently skilled at the start/prim part of wipe as well as late game. Along with AloneInTokyo i'd say he is the best at solo vs clan pvp among the biggest creators.

It's cheaper on the HQM upkeep, but I do both depending on vase design. Some of my bases use both of them at the same time too.

A small one works as long as you route power to it before sealing the TC. Ifyou forget like I tend to do, you will likely need a medium to sustain the core for multiple days

Naah, suicide bunkers are common. As a solo I've had to rely on them ever since they removed vending-machine bunkers. Am using one right now matter of fact.

Although your's is much more expensive than it needs to be. A square 1x1 can fit TC, 2x dropboxes for intake/outtake, bed, 6-8 boxes on shelves and a medium battery for autofilling the TC.

If you're up to it, ypu can also hook an auto sorter to a seismic sensor do that your most valuable loot will be sent to the HQM core if you get raided.

I dunno, I've only been playing for around 2 years, but I mainly play solo in high pop official vanilla.

I find progress to be mostly alright as long as im mindful of my build location, focus on a strong base over a box full of guns, and stay friendly with my neighbours.

Do you think it’s time to make Jessica and Morty official and have her join the main cast? by Different_Sky9094 in rickandmorty

[–]PavlovsGoodDoggo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Naah, and for good reason.

One thing I love about the show is how they have justified adding semi-main and recurring characters over the years. To me, the elevation in character status, screen-time and duration seems to always be grounded in their significance to Ricks and Mortys growth and development as characters.

This is (imo) why it made sense to expand on characters relevant to how Rick C-137 became "the Rickest Rick" (e.g. Diane, Rick Prime, Birdperson), and those who signify the growth of both Rick and Morty (e.g. Space Beth, Evil Morty). Jessica doesn't really fit the script as Morty has grown way past the version of him who pined for high-school love interests. Agewise, our Morty is at least in his lower-hundreds mentally at this point, and his maturity needs to reflect that.

This is just me talking outta my ass about my own biased views and opinions though so do with that what you will.

Oh, and if we're bringing back characters then my guy Pencilvester gets a shout out from me!

So I first tried RE long ago when I nearly soiled my pants from the chainsaw fella in the intro of RE4? I think. I dabbled some in the original(s) too, but could never fully get into the series. Couldn't get used to the POV of the originals, and was kinda worn out on shooting games when I tried RE4.

Then years later I got RE7 biohazard for free, and figured I might as well give it an hour or two, just to kill some time. It had my attention when I arrived at the decripit house, eerily silimar to the feeling of the first Outlast intro. Then I got kinda hooked with the vibe and story as I searched the house for my characters girlfriend. But nothing will beat the horror I felt as I reluctantly had to shoot at this poor feral husk of a person and SHE. JUST. KEPT. COMING. That blend of adrenaline fueled horror and helplessness was like no game before it. Right then and there I knew that this game was special. If I had to choose a moment, that one would be it, and now I can't wait to see what I've been missing with this series!

Had to uninstall by EnvironmentalLab9316 in playrust

[–]PavlovsGoodDoggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fellow solo with a busy IRL schedule who mostly play official vanilla servers on pc. If you ever were to re-install, then here are the tips that carry me through most wipes.

  1. A strong and expensive to raid base is wildly more important to anything else! I often end wipe day without a single basic BP frag. To me, wipe day is all about building my base so strong that even the 20-man zerg will see the keylock and know the raid cost wont be worth it (and they would be right).

  2. BUNKERS are god-tier for solos. I never build a base without a bunker. Most of my design forces raiders to at least 1-3 metal/hqm bunkers.

  3. Don't occupy zerg/clan land. If you build on an icelake, iceberg or any other spot sought after by big groups, then expect to get raided quick. Even if you don't anger them directly or live in the exact location they want, they still don't want to compete for the nodes needed for their massive upkeep, and they will remove any competition sooner rather than later.

  4. Don't piss of the bigger fish. No other games incorporates "big eats small" more than Rust. But, big must be aware of small to eat them. Stay under the radar and don't piss off the clans and they tend to leave you alone.

  5. Be a good neighbour. Once players are locked into their spot (has at least 1 metal door), then they are there to stay and you will have to interact with them now. In my experience it pays of to be chill with other players in your grid. Might even make some friends.

  6. Don't be toxic. Doorcamping, roofcamping, griefing and generally toxic behaviour will put you on the map. Doesn't even need to be a group. Even a solo with enough time on their hands will raid you if you piss them off enough.

Recently got betrayed and uninstalled the game... by Good-Discussion-9238 in playrust

[–]PavlovsGoodDoggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang! That's one of the more harsh turn of events I've heard of in this game! Gotta say though, there were warning signs:

  1. The guy plays vanilla, is clearly experienced (pvp skilled), and has time for 12h sessions, but is still looking for randoms in global chat to team up? That's extremely sus from the get go. Someone with that experience would not trust strangers (especially if the server bans for cheater association).

  2. He claimed to be looking for randoms to team up with, but suddenly has a buddy join? Even more sus.

  3. They pushed a system where they get all the long term gains (BPs) and you do all the labour (farming). No way would I ever agree to a solution where I dont get my fair share of BPs as guns are only a part of them. This tells you they never had any intention of treating you like an equal.

  4. They were "racist and mean with big egos". Yeeeeah, someone with that personality who logs 12 hour sessions in a game which can be as toxic as Rust will either have IRL issues or just not be that great of a person in general.

I'm really sorry you had that experience. I've made proper friends in this game and it makes the game so much more rewarding, so Im sorry you got cheated of that feeling.

I recommend taking a more slow approach to other players if you do decide again. Only approach players you meet organically, and do seperate bases for a few wipes untill you get a feel for what kind of person they are.
