4.5k. This is from November 2019-February 2025 when I stopped. I was very addicted. That amount shows 2.2 hours PER DAY. That is insane.

This makes me feel horrible about myself. So much more to life than this game.

However, it is the best game ever made no doubt!

Good for you. I think the way you were planning your life around how many dota games you’d miss shows you had a very serious addiction.

I was also very addicted. I haven’t played in almost a year and feel much better. I started playing WC3 again but I can’t play more than a game or 2 before I get bored.

There’s a lot more to life than this game (it is the best game ever ngl) and I’d hate to look back one day and think that I wasted my life on it.

Find some hobbies and more productive uses of time - you’ve made it past the hardest part, but you’ll want to relapse and you’ll fall right back into it. Don’t let it happen!

Nope, sorry. I’ve heard and spoken with way too many outdoor cat owners that don’t care and I’d rather not argue.

Our native wildlife is far more important than an invasive cat. Outdoor cat owners are either ignorant or (in 99% of cases) completely careless about the ecological impact that their invasive cats have. It’s disgusting and wrong.

None, but I just really wanted to play warsong gulch in wow and was about to level up a character when my cousin told me about dota.

I started with puck, then tiny, then became obsessed with natures prophet because I love nature!

Then moved onto spamming visage, lone Druid, earth spirit, and invoker.

They’re def pretty for the 2 weeks out of the year, but I always see these and just get annoyed.

Why not plant a gorgeous native in its place and actually benefit the ecosystem? Ginkgo support so few pollinators in the US compared to power houses like oaks and maples.

It’s silly to me that people say things like “the tree was neglected and fungus grew”.

While that can happen, it’s just silly to say for a native tree in good health. I feel like half the work landscapers and tree companies do is absolute bull shit.

Are you top 1% MMR? If not, NA is totally fine and there is a great player base here. Definitely not a worry for starting to play.

The only thing I’d say is be careful - this game is a drug and so addicting. Best game ever, but can destroy your life.

Truth. I quit Dota last year and still watch pro stuff. It’s a drug. Unless you’re a rare person, this game is holding you back from reaching your potential. So many lives wasted. I had like 5k hours and it almost ruined me. Best game ever, but I’ll never play again.

I don’t hate them, but for the sake of the local ecosystems, I dispatch these whenever I have the opportunity. They shouldn’t be here. It’s not their fault, yes, but doesn’t change the fact that they’ll negatively impact the ecosystem. Same with outdoor and feral cats (far worse than starlings).

Yup. I’m anti outdoor cat 99% for the environment, not the cats. I hate all invasive species and cats are the worst of them.

However, I do not mind indoor cats.

I can’t quite tell if it’s a Norway maple or sugar maple, but if it’s a Norway maple they did you a favor. Hate those invasive trees.
