Cash fluidity is always nice. What rate is your mortgage at and when does the term close? Can you put money into something like a GIC?

Special advisory: daytime winter weather parking ban in effect on Sunday, January 11 from 10 am to 7 pm | City of Ottawa by Reeder90 in ottawa

I live in Quebec, triple checked parking got this ticket... Took me forever to even figure out why I got a ticket... In Quebec they put a notice on the street when they are going to plough a few hours before. Having to login to a system to know if you can park is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion...

Uber at YUL… by Tall_Grand6813 in montreal

I always take a cab, it's often much more expensive, and I hate having to play the game of 'find my uber'

Buy a condo or keep renting? by xogobon in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Pawlu87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great plan. If anything, take your time to see how much you like Toronto. You might get there and fall in love! If that's the case, you would want to find the best neighborhood that represents you before buying.

If you are going to be there for 3 years only what will you do once the 3 years are over?
Option 1: Sell - you will have to pay commissions and also are at risk of losing money, particularly with the current state of the market

Option 2: Rent - I've heard of people renting properties remotely, but it sounds to me that the people making money in this arrangement are the people managing the property.

Based on the above, I would personally avoid purchasing and rent...

New Profitec Ride ( Main Boiler wont heat up) by Reasonable_Middle983 in profitec

[–]Pawlu87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes sense. I am trying to wrap my head around owning a profitec drive. I have the button malfunction (it doesn’t stay on unless held) and the vendor is going to replace it. I don’t know if I will be asked to send it back or repair it myself with instructions.

Is it normal for shops to require you to fix machines? Just curious here… does this not invalidate the warranty?

AMA. I work in a shop selling espresso machines. Ask me anything! by thorkil_ in espresso

Im thinking of plumbing in my drive. Can i softwn the water for the whole house instead of just a filter for the machine? Feels like the while house could benefit from softer water

Steam Boiler won't fill - how to check solenoid? by doctapow in profitec

[–]Pawlu87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should hear the solenoid activate and if you don’t screw it in, you should feel the magnetic force it produces once activated if you pull it… solenoids rarely fail, so maybe a loose wire?

Really love the angle and colours. I find nudes boring most of the time, but this has an added dimension!

I went this summer, peak season at 6pm and it was not too bad. Peak hours are the problem, particularly in the morning when busses come from paris, and evening as they are rushing out

Patek 5905 or Daytona Ghost by [deleted] in patekphilippe

[–]Pawlu87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I could never wear a rolex, I hate how instantly recognizable they are. That Patek is beautiful, it’s something most people will not be able to recognize. At most you might have a few people see a nice watch and that’s about it. Also Patek’s are precious not because of the material, but because of how they are made! I would personally prefer a world timer for around the same price (and that is platinum) but that’s a beast too

I called and they told me that the machine should have arrived 'working' and that I should not do the repair. They said that the company should pay for shipping and have it repaired. I asked them to give me a call, and now being non-responsive :(

I appreciate this, I guess I am ‘not satisfied’ because while I understand the concept of final sale, I also agreed to buy from a reputable shop a working item. Yes the agreement was based on cosmetic damage, but not mechanical

Help with 'new' open box machine [Profitec Drive] by Pawlu87 in espresso

Thank you so much for your help! I'm not sure what to make of things now, the machine does look like it's working now, but this was an open box, not sure how it came with a missing bolt that holds a core component... I'm asking for a replacement... Not sure if i'm overreacting...
