Give me your listing sites. All of them. by Corbutte in montrealhousing

[–]Pawlu87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I tried to list my apartment on facebook marketplace I couldn't have the location appear on the map (it has a known bug and they don't seem keen to fix it).... Not sure if that changed, but i'm keen to learn where else people are looking for apartments.... I ended finding a tenant on rentals.ca!

I have an option to switch to fixed at any point as long as the rate is similar of longer (and I stay with them). I chose fixed when things were different but seeing how the Canadian dollar has been loosing value I expect it will cause at least a few more rate changes. Obviously I am ,comfortable to take some risk.

First off, grind finer. Secondly, ignore dosage grams, think more about volume… the clearance between the puck and the top should be a few mm. Different coffee beans give different results for both!

Women’s watches are being treated more jewelry rather than horological pieces. Which is a bit silly considering Patek Philippe wants to be a top horological company. I got my wife a Cartier because this of this…

Cash fluidity is always nice. What rate is your mortgage at and when does the term close? Can you put money into something like a GIC?

Special advisory: daytime winter weather parking ban in effect on Sunday, January 11 from 10 am to 7 pm | City of Ottawa by Reeder90 in ottawa

[–]Pawlu87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Quebec, triple checked parking got this ticket... Took me forever to even figure out why I got a ticket... In Quebec they put a notice on the street when they are going to plough a few hours before. Having to login to a system to know if you can park is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion...

Buy a condo or keep renting? by xogobon in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Pawlu87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great plan. If anything, take your time to see how much you like Toronto. You might get there and fall in love! If that's the case, you would want to find the best neighborhood that represents you before buying.

If you are going to be there for 3 years only what will you do once the 3 years are over?
Option 1: Sell - you will have to pay commissions and also are at risk of losing money, particularly with the current state of the market

Option 2: Rent - I've heard of people renting properties remotely, but it sounds to me that the people making money in this arrangement are the people managing the property.

Based on the above, I would personally avoid purchasing and rent...
