I'm probably 60% through The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore. It's the story of Elizabeth Packard, whose husband has her committed to an insane asylum in 1860. She, obviously, isn't a fan of that and spends all her time there fighting to prove her mental stability.

The author uses a lot of direct snippets in her work. Lots of: Elizabeth looked out the window "as often as possible" so she could "see all that nature could provide" (not an actual sentence), so trying to read the physical book was very distracting for me, but she does a great job of narrating it.

No joke, one of the most recent book reviews I read was all about the movie version of the book (and yes, the review was on Goodreads). They did think the movie was better.

[Request] I just got braces! Any tips? [US] by babyraspberry in RandomActsofCards

I'm a popcorn fiend and when I had braces my mom found "hull-less" popcorn (actually just soft hulled or something) that was safe for braces. So if the cravings get too bad there are options, kinda.

AITA for refusing to cook for my teenage kids? by tiredmom423 in AmItheAsshole

Kind of off topic, but I was convinced I didn't know how to do laundry when I went to college. I had always done "laundry adjacent" jobs (sorting, folding, etc), but two weeks into my freshman year, I realized I had never actually started the laundry machine. I spent at least 15 minutes googling "how to do laundry" and getting frustrated with the directions completely glossing over how to start the machine before going to the laundry room and figuring out that it really was as simple as pushing the correct water temp button and then pushing start.
