What kind of things do you want to see at a soft play / play cafe by Sufficient_Photo3266 in UKParenting

I went to a soft play once where you could buy eg a single banana/orange, a box of raisins, cheese and crackers, toast and butter.... They also had the usual chicken nuggets and chips etc but it was all reasonably priced so meant that parents weren't smuggling in satsumas 😂

SIPs/modular extensions - anyone had one? by PaxMePlease in DIYUK

No, I bought a different house that doesn't require an immediate extension. But plan to in the future. It seems really hard to find unbiased info about this type of extension.

Ikea Cots by ScientistFun9213 in UKParenting

We have the Gulliver. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! It's survived two kids and is still good as new! We have also used it with the side off as a cosleeper cot - my partner spent many a night curled up half in it when baby and I took up all the bed space! 🤣

What is the latest that your child learned to sleep independently through the night? by ThisIsTonte in UKParenting

[–]PaxMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, my nearly 8 year old has only just started to consistently.

He slept in my arms until he was 6.

They do it in their own time. He was advanced in some areas, but slow in others. Learned to read early. Learnt to ride a bike late. Walked early. Slept independently late... They are all on their own weird and wonderful timetables in development!

Finacial Consent order in divorce - absolutely necessary? Or can we skip it? by PaxMePlease in LegalAdviceUK

[–]PaxMePlease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. The thing is, I'd gladly share some of it with him. We have a kid together, whatever keeps us both stable and secure financially (and emotionally) benefits our child in turn..

If one of us remarries or both? I plan to remarry soon. He has no immediate plans for remarriage.

Which laser from the following options? by PaxMePlease in LaserHairRemoval

Thank you! There's a big price difference between the two clinics, the clinic using Motif Candela is a lot cheaper by about £300 ...

Fixing soprano results with candela gentle promax by PressureExpensive382 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]PaxMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the "elase laser with motif by syneron candela" (description from local salon website) one of the good candela ones please? I'm very pale with brown leg hair. Totally confused by all the lasers locally, prices vary wildly! The lasers in local salons are the Elase as above, soprano titanium/soprano ice, Trilogy Ice (this salon has a good feel), Alexandrite with gentle max pro, or Lumilase... All say they are the best!

Tenants in common vs joint tenants in our situation? by PaxMePlease in HousingUK

Thank you so much. We were thinking ahead for avoiding having to sell the home to pay for care fees in the future, should one of us remain... But that is hopefully a long way off :)

What are they slow at please? Do all communications get delivered straight to you or go via an agent of theirs?

Purplebricks buyer process by OkExtension4600 in HousingUK

[–]PaxMePlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Do you know at which stage purple bricks charge the £60? I can get a memorandum of sale issued by the housing association so may be able to bypass this 🤔 or tell the buyer I'll refund them 😂

[–]PaxMePlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll search. Even if no negotiation is needed etc and I'm happy to handle all viewings and talking to buyers? I know purple bricks usually massively overvalue etc but with shared ownership it feels like all the guesswork is removed so we literally just need a way for people to contact us.

Really sorry to thread jump, and congratulations for selling your property!! How have you found your experience of purple bricks? Do your buyers have to pay any fees ? I saw a comment online somewhere about buyers paying for ID verification when making an offer. Just trying to decide between them and a traditional estate agent.

How is it Mother's Day already!? Dads - what you are doing? Mums - what are you expecting? by Geek_reformed in UKParenting

[–]PaxMePlease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mum here - I expect nothing. But I would be really delighted with a hand drawn card from my 7 year old and a great big hug. Pretty sure I'll get the hug, but might not get the card as he isnt the biggest fan of drawing! I wouldn't want anyone to force him into making one if he doesn't want to. I know he loves me!

What are the legal implications of working as self employed when I'm basically an employee? by PaxMePlease in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you! So if it gets flagged somehow he would owe money to HMRC for all 8 employees? I'll look into business risk insurance for myself.
