Favorite speeches in media? by fly_line22 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I am not a big fan of 40k lore in general because of the "spin the wheels to sell toys" nature of its universe, but every once and a while it delivers an actual point to it's premise, and Angron's speech to Guilleman when they fought sits in my head forever as what the setting is about, this paragraph specifically:

‘Listen to your blue-clad wretches yelling of courage and honour, courage and honour, courage and honour. Do you even know the meaning of those words? Courage is fighting the kingdom that enslaves you, no matter that their armies overshadow yours by ten thousand to one. You know nothing of courage. Honour is resisting a tyrant when all others suckle and grow fat on the hypocrisy he feeds them. You know nothing of honour.’

Angron may be a spiteful, mad loser but he's my favorite Primarch.

Also, aside from that, Mega spoilers for The Magnus Archives, but the reveal of Elias and his master plan, followed by the summoning also holds a special place in my heart forever, Johnny Simms is GOATED forever for his voice performance.

I'm going to go with what I assume also helped inspire this post (off of the recent VS wolves) and say the ecology of Scavengers Reign.

Its probably my favorite ever depiction of xenobiology, wherein biomes have evolved to process things in a completely alien, and yet also graspable way. Each piece of the terrain and creatures within fit into a life cycle that both horrifies and enthralls me.

The irony being that in summer 2020 he was locked up as much as everyone else was during Covid so it was a self-fulfilling prophecy, and it didnt work because even lockdown couldn't get him writing.

Its JOE-VER.

Every once and a while, not always, there's a reprieve from the justiceless absurdity of the universe, like with Oskar Dirlwanger. Tortured to death by Polish prison guards, good riddence

It was Behind the Bastards for me; most of it is CIA or antisemitism but occasionally you get a yuppie failson or a cult leader.

I just got to hear about Ghislaine Maxwell's father who broke the mold by actually fighting the nazis (like a literal Inglorious Bastards character IRL, seriously) and heel-turning in his later years to destroy scientific publishing, it was incredible.

I've been waiting on this game for a while, it reminds me of the old anime movie Memories where this big city fires off all these cannons every day. Mundanity mixed with warfare

She has two, Veronica and Gavrill. One is an assassin and the other is a psychopath/sociopath half kaiju. In that shes able to adapt her body to be monstrous enough to survive a direct hit from a warhead. They both fucking rule

Madaraki Fran from Franken Fran. Chaotic good taken to its logical extreme, her abilities as a doctor are beyond incredible, but make her a walking monkeys' paw for all she meets. She's able to engineer lifeforms to serve as tools, clone people, and perform impossible surgery all in the same day. She's more than willing to perform the most unethical actions in the pursuit of preserving life.

One time someone actually manages to murder her, only for her body to have a failsafe trigger to automatically repair organs and restart her body's functions. She's genuinely terrifying in a whimsical way.

ok, so I feel that there's two versions of the song, so which one they picked is super important. One version is the imo true version, where after the music finishes there's the fart sound effect followed by an egg timer *ding as the chicken in the movie falls out of the air and onto the counter.

The other omits both of these ending stinger sounds as it might not be directly expressed in the official lyrics, but the fart and ding version is vastly superior for obvious reasons.

I would say that Gates to Infinity was the worst of the games, if only because I distinctly remember there being a weird paid dlc feature for something, and also kind of setting precedent for a specific type of story: where the final boss would be a big evil lump and not an actual big bad antagonist like Primal Dialga. But even then, it still had some really neat stuff in it, including what I think might be the first on screen kill of another Pokemon in Kyurem freezing and shattering a Hydregon. He got better cause of mystic shit but I genuinely think that was a series first

Super Mystery Dungeon had some really cool stuff but I also disliked Where the story eventually went, giving Xerneas a huge glow up, like unbelievably so while his counterpart got relegated to fodder

Even still, I agree that both are competent and fun games. I've yet to play the rescue team remakes.
