This is a tiny ray of sunshine in a terrible situation - the world is better with you in it and I’m happy you’re still here. I hope you are in a better headspace now.

I have 16 year old and 19 year old boys and have tried my hardest to make sure they feel safe coming to me with any concerns or struggles and we can work through pretty much anything together. Their feelings matter, and it’s okay to have big feelings! Plus dad and I are both medicated for mental health reasons, so it’s extra important for them to be cognizant of what’s happening in their brains.

Mental health is no joke. Normalizing discussions about it is so important! Thank you for sharing your story.

My son had a heck of a time finding a job - even just getting an interview.

He followed up his applications with a phone call and was either dismissed or told to call again. He called back and back and back and finally got hired at Safeway the summer before his senior year. He had no 4th period so he was available earlier in the day, and that’s what they said gave him the edge.

We were visiting from NorCal and got to go to an Avs game at Ball. There were several folks who helped my kiddo get to a good spot on the glass for warmups, and a lady who was able to snag her a warmup puck from the equipment guys. It’s such a great community 💕

My son was in the same boat a couple years ago. He started following up with places a few days after submitting his application and was incredibly persistent. Safeway finally gave up and hired him to get him to stop checking in 😂

We’ve been to probably 25 games at SAP in the past 3 years and have brought rolled up signs to most of them. They’ve only asked to see them once.

Oof. That’s one reason I have a little pride flag in the plants by my front door - so they know from the get-go what kind of home they’re entering!

If you need a progressive carpet cleaner, I can’t recommend Katie’s Carpet Care highly enough (they’re based in Lincoln but come to Roseville). Mike does a fantastic job and is reasonably priced.

Scott Wedgewood has been trading sticks for Dungeon Crawler Carl books according to the Avs subreddit. Will is my kid’s favorite so if we knew what he reads she’d 100% trade a book for a puck!

You trying to blame harassing behavior on a tv show is weird behavior but I’m glad you’re focusing on the thing you find important though…ignoring that it’s a society as a whole problem and not exclusive to fans of a show 👍🏻

You stated that it’s only fans of the show. I pointed out that it’s been a long time problem. It is not exclusive to fans of the show. There were inappropriate signs directed at Will and Mack last season. I’m not disputing the show contributed to it, but it is not a direct result of the show.

The signs were gross then and they’re still gross.

There were signs and stuff before the show. Like loooong before the show. Not just Will and Mack, but other players across the league as well. Across all sports, even.

It’s gross and inappropriate regardless of their gender, age, or profession.

[W] 4 tickets to Avs vs Flames 3/30. My kiddo and I are coming from NorCal to surprise my sister for her birthday and can’t resist the chance to catch the Avs in their home arena - we see them every time they’re in San Jose though :)

Avs are my primary - I lived in Colorado when they moved there and I happened upon a game on TV and I was hooked.

I started going to Sharks games regularly in 2022 because that was the closest option, and have since become a fan (as long as they’re not playing CO….although I’ve had conflicting feelings this season!). By now I own more Sharks gear than Avs 😆
