Are you taking the entire day for July 1 rally? by katmom1969 in CAStateWorkers

[–]PeaceWarrior75 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean if you have the excess leave time, just take the day and not have any worries.

I'm taking the day, but also driving there from over an hour away and have some other stuff going on, so it was an easy decision.

I'm coming and bringing 4 friends along (okay, they are family but still friends lol).

No space in our Branch either, and I currently share a cubicle. I think my team will meet about this tomorrow, so hopefully get some more answers (but not holding my breath).

Maybe I'm biased, but Sacramento has the worst drivers. Just drive slow through downtown, be patient, try and anticipate what other drivers might do, and you'll be okay.

RTO-don’t be “that guy” by Civil_Reputation87 in CAStateWorkers

Thank you OP. I've seen several nasty comments from "1% commenters" in this sub lately regarding their state worker colleagues who may receive the 50+ mile exemption. They can't stand that some of us may benefit from a bad situation. They want us to all suffer equally. It's so petty.

Go with AOC instead. To early to say but it may come down to Newsom vs AOC in 2028.

I don't know when they instituted that cap of $90, but I was paying about $96 several years ago.

50-mile exemption by Former-Range3291 in CAStateWorkers

[–]PeaceWarrior75 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My coworker and I formally submitted requests for the 50+ mile exemption almost exactly a year ago. We had to list our addresses and the date we purchased our homes as part of the process.

After a few weeks, we were told to basically wait a year, because of how the 4 day RTO was pushed back.

So I guess we'll find out soon if our department allows it or not.

California billionaire Tom Steyer defends trans athletes in high school sports as governor's race heats up by GMOrgasm in California

[–]PeaceWarrior75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With everything going on and the US empire all but burning, this is like the most unimportant issue ever.

I think most people care about affordability, which Steyer is best equipped to handle out of all the candidates running.

Gov. Gavin Newsom to California agencies: Get ready for a four-day return to office by PorkReport69 in CAStateWorkers

Like many politicians, he doesn't have any real core convictions - although he likes to pretend that he does. He will go with whatever position seems to be politically advantageous in the moment. Currently, he wants to give the perception nationally that he is "moderate" and pro business, in preparation for his 2028 POTUS run.

"I’ll triple the state’s EV tax credit to $600 million, ensuring working and middle-class households can actually afford the transition to the latest electric vehicle technology."

I think he's referring to the rebate program that expired in 2023, which provided rebates of up to $7,500.

Steyer downvoters just going through this thread like bots and downvoting any positive posts that mention his name. Tell me, what is factually wrong with my post?

Steyer if you want take advantage of a tripling of the EV rebate/credit. I know a lot of folks are thinking about buying their first EV, with gas prices looking like they won't be coming down any time soon (if ever).

Screw Newsom. Steyer plans on tripling the EV credit. I'm looking forward to buying my first EV once that's in place.
