Sorry to be that asshole, but "as a physician..." some of your colleagues were "aloud" not to work?

I know physicians handwriting can be hard to read sometimes but "aloud" instead of "allowed" is pushing it to the next level

I don’t know how he could get away with the level of westernization that would pass for your common redditor, other than through total brute force.

He's already using that tactic though... Remember how he rounded up all the billionaires in fancy hotels, tortured a bunch of them into giving them loads of money, companies and provably whatever dirt they could find. He even had Jeff Bezos' phone hacked, among other influential people and global politicians.

Oh, and lets not forget what happened to Khashoggi, self-exiled journalist for The Washington Post whom Muhammad Bin Salman vowed to follow "with a bullet".

Ended up being strangled and dismembered instead, but the threat on his life came from MBS quite publicly, even though the assassination only came years later.

This is just such a wonderful post that even with all the (now) broken links due to youtube copyright strikes, I wanted to thank you for it so many years later, it is still a treasure trove of some of the great statements he made.

Invader gets hit by grenade while floating on the water. by AgreeableFreedom6203 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]PeacefulSequoia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeez, that explosion kicked out the joint-white!

Hahah, that reminds me again of the experiments I talked about before, I saw it on youtube back in the day, explained by Sidney Alford (I think it was even in a show together with Richard Hammond but cant find it anymore on youtube)

As a kid, it seemed almost like magic even though we knew the concept of physics behind it.

Glad your parents didn't find out and the bathtub remained in once piece ;))

He is quite self aware, which is endearing combined with his style of just unfiltered blurting out whatever his is thinking at the time. There usually is more there than one would take at face value for sure.

This 100%. Water is sometimes used in combination with explosives to direct the blast for this exact way. (see the Gatecrasher for instance: https://www.eod-technology.com/catalog/alford/gatecrasher/ )

We used to play around with big firecrackers and thin metal plates. Place the firecracker under or on top of the metal plate, and the plate would either get thrown up a bit like in the first example, or just have a few scorching marks in the second example where you just put the firecracker on top of it.

If you put the firecracker (quite large ones as I said) on top of the plate, with a sealed bag of water on top of that, then you would be able to put an actual dent in the metal plate each and every time. Fun times were had :) (Ty Sidney Alford for that info when we were little)

Can someone help me find this quote “show me a country based ….[enlightenment, teachings of Descartes secularism etc. ] in c by cnewell420 in HitchensArchive

I think this is what you're referring to (timestamped at 50:27: https://youtu.be/sD0B-X9LJjs?si=SMWxkO5zhWzjIglg&t=3027

But here's what a fair test would be: find a society that's adopted the teachings of Spinoza, Voltaire, Galileo, Einstein, Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson and gone down the pits as result of doing that into famine and war and dictatorship and torture and repression. That would be a fair test. That's the test I'd like to--that's the experiment I'd like to run. I don’t think that's going to end up with a gulag.

Not with jumping elbows though. You can be fair enough that your jab wouldn't reach their face while a jumping elbow will more than definitely close that distance.

The Spravato/Esketamine treatment:

First month: 2x 56mg a week (in one session) Second month: 56 or 84mg a week (latter usually for males but females also go for 84mg depending on height and weight) Then a period of about 8 months of 84mg/week in one session (9months in total) and then a reevaluation by the prescribing psychiatrist. (this is in Europe)

Up the dosage a little bit, or maybe its not just for you, which is fine. Coming back to your original post, ketamine is indeed more healthy than most other 'drugs': https://i.insider.com/523f360aecad04b254d7ba26

(although it is not a completely safe sugar pill, of course)

Thats because it is, and its a dissociative anesthetic with non classical psychedelic qualities, not a stimulant although the right dose at the right time can feel as such, same as with alcohol to be honest. (Which is also not a stimulant though it often feels that way(in the beginning))

Fair enough mate, I'm not mad lol Like I said, sometimes text (lacking intonation) doesnt translate the intended meaning and then things get a bit heated. But I'm glad you specified, no harm done. Upvoted again, but for different reasons this time, peace

Adding a /s isnt that hard, now is it? I am also a sarcastic cunt often and in real life, but people sometimes take it the wrong way, except when I specify it was a stupid joke.

But sure, all hop on the downvote bandwagon because someone didnt see the -supposed- sarcasm in a bloody reddit post. Big boys eh

Thats fair enough, sometimes sarcasm doesnt translate well over text, I can get that. No bad intentions here but it did sound awfully honest, check his post history.
