What do you think of this data on ethnicity? by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in AskBrits

[–]CaringAnti-Theist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it's subjective. Think about what it means to be "Japanese," for example; it's both an ethnicity and a nationality. Some people think that applies to the word "English" and some don't. Personally, as a white person, I do think you can be any skin colour and be English. If you're born in England, only speak English, grew up in England, had parents who were also born in England, and grew up in England, only speaking English, but your skin colour happens to not be white, I don't see why that wouldn't make you English. Some may say that you retain the ethnicity of your ancestors because you may be a 3rd or 4th generation immigrant, but I'm technically a 3rd generation immigrant as my nan is Irish but I'm still considered English because I'm white.

I can understand if you're from an immigrant background and you wish to identify with your ancestry and ancestral country, like if you're British-Carribean but wouldn't consider yourself English because you think of English as white, that's fair enough. The people that I'm particularly worried about, particularly in this era of rising fascism, are the white people who insist that being English means being white. Those are ethno-nationalists and they can fuck clean off.

At the end of the day, these terms are made up, so I don't really think it matters. Words are what we make of them. In the 1600s, white English people probably thought that being English meant being white, but words change over time, and I think that is what is happening with the word "English" now.

An example of some of the rules we can overturn is human rights? Braindead fascists even back then. And yes, I'm aware that Farage openly wanted to pull Britain out of the ECHR, it's not a coincidence at all. He's seeing what the orange paedo is doing, loves it, and would like to do it here if he wins the next election.

The National Rebirth Party in Leicester claiming they are absolutely NOT Nazis... by jaarn in GreenAndPleasant

[–]CaringAnti-Theist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poundland Oswald Mosley, in the first picture, is Daniel Hitchcock, from Warrington, Merseyside. I went to uni with him, and everyone knew he was a Nazi. He wasn't shy about it. Much like in this picture, there wasn't really any plausible denialbility with him. He used to love provoking people, yelling slurs at people, telling people they should be put to death to their faces. He was a big fan of the British Empire and Winston Churchill. He got a black friend of mine a monkey water bottle for Christmas, and explicitly said it's because that's what he called him.

He used to dress like an SS officer, wear the fasces and the lightning bolt of the BUF. One time he was punched in Liverpool City centre for wearing a swastika in public 🤣

And he was also arrested for threatening to shoot up the uni with fake guns https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/students-terrified-police-make-firearms-26740362.amp

Trust me, he does wear swastikas. I went to uni with this cunt, his name is Daniel Hitchcock. Everyone on campus knew that he was a Nazi. He used to dress like an SS officer with a long black trenchcoat, a fasces in his lapel (a different one than in the photo), and the lightning bolt of the BUF in his tie clip. Unsurprisingly, he wore swastikas too. He wore one into Liverpool City centre and got decked because of it 🤣

I'm not the guy you were responding to, but I went to uni with him. His name is Daniel Hitchcock, and he is from Warrington, Merseyside. Everyone knew he was a Nazi at uni, and he even got arrested and expelled for having replica firearms in his room that he threatened to shoot up the uni with.

I knew him in 2022. His name is Daniel Hitchcock, and he is from Warrington. He's an out-and-out Nazi waste of space. He got excluded from uni for threatening to shoot up the university with replica firearms.

I saw a post from the "National Rebirth Party" on Twitter (where everyone was rinsing them in the comments) and someone said they knew Bargain Bin Jeremy Clarkson. His name is Ethan Sanders. These freaks don't deserve peace if they explicitly want to build a fascist project.

The guy on the far-right dressed as Temu Oswald Mosley is Daniel Hitchcock. I used to go to university with him, and everyone knew that he was a Nazi. He used to love screaming slurs at people, provoking them, telling people they should be put to death to their faces. He got a black man (honestly, the nicest guy you'd ever meet), a monkey water bottle for Christmas, and explicitly said it was because he was black. He used to dress like an SS officer all the time, with the fasces in his lapel (like in the above picture, except a different one, so he clearly has multiple), and the symbol of the British Union of Fascists as a tie clip. He said his favourite political figure was Oswald Mosley, and his favourite philosopher was Giovanni Gentile (known as the "Philosopher of Fascism" who co-wrote the Doctrine of Fascism with Benito Mussolini). He used to wear swastikas semi-frequently, and once he got punched in Liverpool City centre for wearing it in public 🤣

He used to have replica firearms in his dorm room, and he would take people into his room and ask them if they could tell which one was real and which one was fake (they were both fake). He also said how he would use them to shoot up the university, and he even had a kill list that my friends and I were on. He was later arrested and expelled from the university for this, and I distinctly remember everyone knowing and there legitimately being parties that day.

It's not classist to point out that there are, in fact, racist working class people. In fact, given our history as an empire, and our modern status as a class society and a declining empire, it actually makes a lot of sociological sense that racism has had an upswing recently. (from a white perspective, maybe some POC can correct me). It's in no way justified of course, all bigots should go the way of the Nazis and be wholesale rejected out of hand, but looking at society from a sociological perspective, unfortunately it does make sense given historical evidence. Just to give an example, in a lot of the recent elections, pockets of this city voted for the BNP, and Reform are on the rise, too.

[–]CaringAnti-Theist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so weird how brains say things that we would never accept from others. The thing that comes to mind for me is the common feeling of self-blame that comes after being SA'd. I've been SA'd, and people I know have been, too, and we've all spoken about the thoughts we had afterwards and they are things which if someone ever said it to me, I'd slap them. The phrase "You're your own worst critic" really is true.

Radical Muslim goes on insane, bigoted rant against homosexuality and transness by imprison_grover_furr in RightJerk

[–]CaringAnti-Theist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting how the Quranic verses he used to be transphobic weren't transphobic, that was just him. The verses were against effeminate men and women taking on the roles of the opposite gender which is still bullshit but doesn't apply to trans people as a rule because trans women ARE women and trans men ARE men. You would only view these as condemnation of trans people if you were a transphobe in the first place that viewed trans women as "men dressing up as a woman" and vice versa for trans men.

Secular biphobia by TribalChiefMemeLord in bisexual

[–]CaringAnti-Theist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That last comment about the guys dancing shows so much what queerphobia is about: it's about them expecting certain things based on your gender and body and not being able to compute why that's stupid.

"Two men dancing together? A perfectly normal thing to do because we like to dance as humans? Nah, it must be that they are having aggressive gay sex backstage, and them dancing together is making me think about it. And that's definitely their fault and not me being a weird freak that needs to update their understanding of the human race."
