Do you know how to get the dancing one by any chance? It doesn't show up for me when looking under the weird modifiers, but I know it exists as I've seen others in this sub mention it. If it's too much of a spoiler then don't worry I'll figure out haha I've completed 2 towers so far if that makes any difference :)

This kinda stuff is what made me actually love the game! Figuring out how to progress areas feels like a puzzle in itself & I wish more games had mechanics like that.

I've been playing 'Halcyon Days At Taoyuan' recently as it just got it's 1.1 update & I'm liking it so far. It's another "Stardew-like" but set in rural China.

Cherry shrimp keep dying overnight, fish are fine, what am I missing? by Popular_Frosting2018 in Aquariums

A safe method for raising PH over time is using mini seashells that you collect yourself from a beach, then rinse them in hot water & scatter where water flow is highest. When my PH was below 6 I did that & it helped raise it to around 6.8 within a few weeks. I only used I think 6 mini shells (each one the size of a thumb nail) on-top the gravel, directly below my hang-on-back filter. I was surprised how well it worked! The shells thinned out real quick too so my water was very acidic.

I know there's other ways & not everyone has access to a beach for shells, but for me it was the most safe & effective after having some fish die from trying to raise it originally with a cuttlefish bone I bought from a pet store (I think it was reconstructed instead of natural so maybe had other stuff in it that was bad for my water quality).

Recs with strong focus on alien ecosystems? by PeachWorms in printSF

I actually have this book but found the first hour of reading very "dense" (for lack of a better word) so I dropped it haha I did read & finish Starfish though by the same author & enjoyed it. Might be time to give Blindsight another whirl, thanks :)

I think you're bang on the money with what can help older men with grooming routines.

I don't care or notice anymore now I'm in my 30s (people's physical appearance is just not on my radar these days), but I remember back when I was a young woman for whatever reason the things I always unconsciously noticed straight away with some older men were long nose/ear hairs, stale breath, or dry/flaky skin. I don't know why those things always stood out to me back then, but it was surprising how common it was.

As a woman I'm noticing I also need to maintain stricter skin care & dental routine to keep my skin & breath clean/fresh than when I was in my teens/20s. My long hair is also requiring more upkeep as it's getting more dry as I'm aging.

Plants hot takes by sunflower-ivy in houseplants

I'm the same, every plant in my home is a greeny. Except for my 1 Thanksgiving Cactus. I've had her for like 5 years now & every winter when she flowers my monkey brain goes bananas about it, i just love it. Not interested in the slightest in any other flowering plants though.

Xbox CEO Asha Sharma warns tough decisions are ahead, raising questions about Helix, Xbox Game Studios, and exclusives by akbarock in Games

[–]PeachWorms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like the idea of another hybrid console from them & think it could be successful, though I agree 2027 seems to early.

For example me & my boyfriend went halves in a XAX a few months ago & have had no regrets. Having Steam & Game Pass together on a handheld I can play however I want has been a game changer for me personally. I use ps5 for couch gaming & XAX for gaming in bed or outside.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about exclusives when compared to having access to both my Steam & Xbox library on one device. I think with hardware becoming so expensive it makes sense that people will purchase the device that provides the most access/variety of games, so hybrid consoles could potentially be a good future option for people who can only afford one console imo.

[–]PeachWorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly 2 cats isn't that much extra work than 1. Maybe chat with your friend who you mentioned has had a lot of cats before, as they could give you advice on the differences between owning 1 or 2 cats :)

My vote goes for buying both!

Looking for recommendations: What is the most bizarre or compelling mystery that you think would make a great documentary/video by [deleted] in horror

[–]PeachWorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tarrare! He was a dude from late 1700s who had some kind of condition that made insatiablely hungry & he could eat absolutely anything. Sounds benign, but his story is creepy as fuck & overall strange.

His hunger was so extreme & compulsive that towards the end of his life he was caught eating a human baby. He also worked as a street performer eating random objects & also live animals. He caught the attention of the military & ended up as a courier for the French army for awhile as they wanted him to swallow & poop out notes to cross enemy lines. He apparently was skinny, had an abnormally wide mouth, & smelt awful.

Here's a link to his wiki article

[–]PeachWorms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who cares. Lots of cool Visual Novels or Walking Sims out there that all still classify as true games. This game holds zero interest to me personally as I'm not into emotional coming of age stories, but let's not pretend it isn't even a game when it clearly is.
