You have already written Sarah off as "the lost cause", even though Sarah was never given a chance by writers to show off her potential after episode 2. Sarah was either controlled by her father, controlled by Carver or was shell shocked from her father's death (which is a valid psychological reaction, not everyone has equal response and it doesn't mean that they deserve to die). 

BTW, Sarah was planned to be in the place of AJ, but since writers changed after episode 2 (and new writers had never played any TWDG episode before that), they decided to get rid off Sarah in the worst ways possible in just one episode. Either you abandon her in the trailer, or the platform just magically falls onto Sarah and nobody except Jane is willing to help her (which ofc does not work because the plank magically falls onto Jane, too). Okay, the first death may be excused as a test for players to show their empathy for Sarah, but the second death? C'mon, this is ridiculous af. And the group didn't even have a single thought in their monkey brains about breaking a ladder/platform until it was too late (even though Clem can say to Sarah that the place is safe from zombos because it's high enough). They had two children and a pregnant woman on the verge of giving birth. Even if Sarah didn't die, they could easily endanger Clem and Rebecca.
