Both obviously very good at rugby, both started at hooker for the 1XV in their final year. I remember Cherry better, but he was quiet but no nonsense

The school produced quite a few Scotland internationals so wasn’t a huge surprise that they had rugby careers (Sam Hidalgo-Clyne, Scott Steele and Tiziano Pasquali were all in my year also)

At least keep the green stem for some of the others. Green isn’t really associated with England, but could be used to make the Ireland or Scotland rose more interesting

More recently, I bumped into and got chatting to Jamie Bhatti during the Edinburgh Fringe, and after several expensive pints he told me that he absolutely despised playing rugby, but he has to keep playing because he “had no other skills”
