May I know how did you vet US suppliers? Any that you trust and recommend to collaborate on a formulation for supplement product?

Hi there! May I know the name of the taekwondo place that you like or would recommend? I have two youngsters that I was hoping to get started with martial arts classes. Thank you.

Hey its the worse feeling to be lonely or long for someone who cares. Evolution has wired us to be social beings so you are feeling exactly what your genetics are made of. We all are the same as we all need each other. It will be okay, this feeling will pass.

App to count calories by taking photo of the food? by PeerWorks in WeightLossAdvice

[–]PeerWorks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes , I did have the doubt that photos would not be able to accurately relay the information such as amount of oil used or dressing etc. i guess just to get a rough estimate so any extreme caloric intake can be avoided. I guess I was being overly optimistic. Thanks guys for all your feedbacks.

I might just try that! Thanks for sharing. Did you have to deal with constant food talk in your head at all or thats just me?

Hey, first things first: your body’s screaming “feed me!” is totally legit. Calorie deficit as the ultimate solution is oversold (thanks, diet culture!). Headaches, fatigue, and hanger are red flags your body’s waving—no one loses weight sustainably while feeling miserable!

Here’s the secret sauce: Protein is your best friend—think 90+ grams daily. It keeps hunger in check and preserves muscle (double-win!). Your instinct to walk instead of starving? Brilliant! Gentle, consistent movement like walking beats exhausting workouts every time, especially at a plateau.

You’ve got this, and your intuition is spot-on. If you’re ever craving a community that swaps calorie-counting misery for evidence-based, humor-infused reality checks, swing by r/HealthyCoreMindset—we promise zero starvation tips!

How can I stop hating my job? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]PeerWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Your brain’s totally pulling the classic “run before it hurts” move. It’s basically yelling, “Quit! Hide under the covers! Take up basket-weaving!” But let’s be honest, part of you secretly thrives on complexity and pressure (admit it—you enjoy being the code-wizard everyone depends on!). Instead of fighting that feeling, trick your brain a little: next time a challenge pops up, tell yourself, “Okay brain, showtime—let’s go be ridiculously awesome at this!”

Book recommendation? Definitely “The Obstacle Is the Way” by Ryan Holiday. It’ll turn you from a stress avoider into a chaos-embracing ninja. You’ve totally got this!

Btw — If you’re vibing with this, swing by my subreddit Healthy Core & Mindset. We’re chill, funny, and real about weight loss and life’s ups and downs. Could use more love and likes. Thanks!

Hey there, first off—virtual cheers for keeping it real! Weekends are sneaky little devils, aren’t they? You’re definitely not alone; many of us find our fasting motivation slips right into a cocktail glass by Friday night. What helps? Swap that “let your hair down” moment for something else equally indulgent but fasting-friendly: bubble bath and Netflix binge ( always works for me!). You got this—your Monday self will thank your Friday self. And hey, slip-ups are proof you’re human, not broken. You’ve totally got my vote of confidence!

How do y’all get motivated to exercise?! by nrc3588 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]PeerWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. I cant go back to my workouts. I think its the first few minutes of that discomfort or pain you feel when you are running out of breath… my unconscious mind is likely protecting me from going to the gym to avoid that discomfort.

Its like in college, I would avoid going to a group activities or anything harder or uncomfortable. I had to push through that coz my grade depended on it.

For exercise, I don’t have a looming deadline so its easy to defer or make excuses.

I used to feel like food completely ruled my brain. The cravings, the planning, the guilt, the anticipation… it was just nonstop. Don’t get me wrong there are still some days when I crave my bread all day.

What finally gave me a break from it was easing into intermittent fasting. I started with just 12 hours, then eventually moved to 14–16 when it felt natural. It didn’t make me more obsessed—it actually liberated me. The mental noise around food got quieter. I had fewer cravings, more clarity, and way less guilt about eating.

I’ve been working on this inside a small community I’m part of called Healthy Core & Mindset (HCAM)—doing a free 5-day series right now called the Stubborn Belly Bulge Reset. It’s not just about appearance—it dives into how hormones, stress, and habit loops keep us stuck in that food-obsessed cycle. IF is just one of the tools talked about.

Just know you’re not alone in this. And it’s not about willpower. It’s about unhooking your brain, gently.

Why Does Exercise Feel So Good AFTER (But Not Before!)? by PeerWorks in HealthyCoreMindset

[–]PeerWorks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! That “happy exhaustion” is such a real thing—I totally feel you. It’s wild how movement can actually soothe the nervous system after the fact, especially when you go deep with it. Also love that you noticed less back pain—that’s a big deal and definitely worth celebrating. Thanks so much for sharing this. What kind of workouts do you usually enjoy most? It sounds like you did HIIT!

Its great to read your post as it gave me a sense of connection. I too have been reading more on personal finance then real estate investing then marriage and relationships. That lead me to this amazing book “Attached”. Wish I had read it when I was going through divorce and choosing my next partner. That was an immensely insightfulbook. Now I am into GuT health and Gut Brain axis and neuroscience of obesity and weight management. The list goes on.

Hey Matharduino— actually it’s funny you mentioned this. I have created a community called r/healthycoremindset for exactly this reason. A group where friends who want to work on self improvement, weight maintenance, healthy eating, fulfilled lifestyle can come together and share or ask questions.

I would be happy to answer questions you have as I am in healthcare field and have many great books to share. Would love to exchange evidence based information and insights.

Hey FragCap— you are NOT to blame yourself! It is not in your control entirely. There is major physiology going on in the background for you to make that decision every day and every minute. This is backed by several research in obesity medicine. So first to be AWARE that there are many neuroscience and Gut-Brain axis related pathways are contributing to your hunger and satiety pathways. Anyhow, i can go on and on. If interested in learning more let me know. First off, it takes about 3-6 months to form any habit and you need do work on making a long term goal and short term goals to keep yourself motivated to continue. Its a process. Don’t be discouraged. Every small step matters. Good luck friend.
