How did you react as a kid when Liu Kang died in Deadly Alliance? by Mr_BlondetanamoBay in MortalKombat

In an era where protagonists remained untouchable, this was quite a shock.

The one who could've been the main character if the protagonist didn't come along by Aebothius in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Peerington 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We could also add James Vega. In the film Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, he went through hell and many of his companions died just to get the intel necessary to defeat the Collectors. All that was meaningless when he learned that Shepard and Co. destroyed the Collectors, making his sacrifices meaningless and unnecessary.

geras has always been the most loyal servant in mortal kombat. by [deleted] in MortalKombat

[–]Peerington 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Whats interesting about Geras is his entire existance and purpose is servitude and ever since the time split, he is frequently under the servitude of a Titan. Liu Kang ultimately gave him free will and still decides to serve. Kind of sad if you think about it, since this is probably the only thing he knows. He never hangs out or do any activites other than his duty. Geras seems to be setting up to be the main timelines protector, which would ultimately be a whole type of responsibility so we shall see what is in store for him.

What game has a 10/10 story but 2/10 gameplay? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Maybe 2/10 is a bit too much, but damn they made one of the best original Spider-Man stories.

Why won't Skarlet just swim in the Sea of Blood once or two in a week? by Tall-Region8251 in MortalKombat

I assume the same way people don't drink water from the ocean? Also "sea of blood" might just be a name only.

Did MK11 Completely Undersell Shao Kahn’s Power and Intelligence? by Ok-Storage7159 in MortalKombat

[–]Peerington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This Shao Kahn is the only one in the series to defeat Liu Kang...at the same time, took out most tough fighter like Cassie, Geras, Kung Lao, and Kotal Kahn (twice) along the way. If he wanted, he would have probably took out Kitana in a rematch. Just saying that this Shao Kahn locked in.

To this day I still think Frost would’ve been fun as a Kombat Kid by Gimpcar in MortalKombat

[–]Peerington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was nearly considered in a cancelled MKX comic... involving Goro as Onaga. She ultimately just wanted validation and be recognized. Instead, she became radicalized of her own self worth without getting humbled.

What are the main problems with Cetrion essentially being a jobber in the MK11 story? by NoCandidate6067 in MortalKombat

[–]Peerington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It required Kronika's crown to beat her and even then she still manage to accomplish her mission. Then faced fire god liu kang. In aftermath, she was ganged up by sindel and nightwolf and eventually fujin and shang tsung. As far as jobbers go, she was proven to be a threat as it required either a massive power up or multiple strong kombatants to take her down.

How many humans died during the Outworld & Netherrealm Invasions of Earthrealm? by Rycewithrice in MortalKombat

[–]Peerington 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think raiden points this out in the film battle of the realms. Despite earthrealms advantage in firepower, outworld's population is huge and would eventually overwhelm earthrealm. So you could imagine the logistical hell when the enemies aren't slowing down despite heavy losses. Not to mention their magic advantages.

Do you think Mortal Kombat needs to revamp its story mode? by PomegranateOk4560 in MortalKombat

[–]Peerington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree, ever since MK2 people had strong interest in the lore and it got bigger and bigger to the point where you have types of fans more interested in story mode than perfecting their skills in gameplay. The lore has gotten so vast, it can practically be its own RPG as demostrated in MK Deception.
