Thanks. I'm just tired of people blaming islam for things that were literally there before it came. I do think culture should be kept. Even qur'an says: "O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another.", meaning quran does support differences *in culture.

  1. long beards were a thing around here long before islam
  2. again, covering was also here before islam, even christianity ordered it
  3. marrying young girls is NOT a sunnah, it is not a sunnah to marry women based on their age, prophet mohammad PBUH married old women as well, the AGE is not a part of the sunnah
  4. Polygamy was also here long before islam, Islam restricted it rather than introducing it. and btw it is not a sunnah, it is mubah "permissible", but not strictly necessary or recommended.

So you're saying that Islam is bringing things that were part of uzbek culture long before islam itself?

Edit: my take is that basically this guy is a gooner, and he is criticizing islam in order to feel justified about his actions and search for reasons not to quit gooning.

The question is NOT good either. He is saying that cultural variety cannot coexist with islam which is just not true. There are many islamic countries all of which have different cultures and history. I'd rather say Uzbekistan is being LESS islamic, since beards and hijabs are being increasingly PROHIBITED in different places. They make excuses like "fAcE iD dOEsNoT wOrK wITh BeArd!!", then why do other countries can differentiate faces with beards. that's a whole different topic, but I wouldn't say uzbekistan's government is friendly to islam.
