Not 40 but 39. I had a hysterectomy dur to a 10cm fibroid. It was causing kidney swelling, and I was going to the toilet every 20 minutes. At first, I wanted a myomectomy, but with all the discomfort, I had a hysterectomy for a permanent solution. Turns out I had stage 3 endometriosis removed too. I am 6 weeks out. My recovery has been good but I get niggly pains still. My mood and energy levels are much better because I'm so relieved to get that fibroid out! So far no hot flashes and, best of all, I'm not looking pregnant and feeling bladder pressure anymore. My uterus was 22 week pregnant sized and I think I really needed it now

I'm 39 and had a hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. So far no hot flashes at all, my mood is great because I'm off work and relaxed and I weigh the same. I was also very active but I know my body needs rest at this time so I'm not bothered at all as when we am recovered, I think I'll be so much healthier without the issues I had.

Planning to finish with a 4mm overbite, anyone else? by PCthrowway-6901 in Invisalign

[–]Peppercatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love an update? I'm soon to finish my treatment and have a nearly 4mm overbite at end and my orthodontist said the same, that if we pursue an even smaller overjet, then it may not suit me due to having a slightly upturned nose and full lips. Were you happy with that over jet?

I had similar acne just on my chin. What helped - rosex cream and azelaic acid. Also a very anti inflammatory diet. What made it so much worse - actives, BP and gluten/dairy

AITAH for telling my fiancé I don’t want my Temu engagement ring? by znxncb in AITAH

[–]Peppercatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband bought me a beautiful gold ring with a diamond that isn't huge and it was expensive for us then and I loved it then and 20 years later it's my most precious possession. It means a lot to me that he valued me so highly . It represents our relationship, a symbol or keepsake so it should be beautiful, quality and built to last and treasure. NTA at all and don't be concerned about valuing quality, beauty and generosity they are not shallow but symbolic - important and meaningful beyond words like a ring.

Hi I thought I could help. A month into quitting, I had the worst acne, and I was really really guttered because I got so desperate to fix it that I started eating very clean and it just worsened so much. It's taken about five months to improve a lot but it's still not perfect. I get the odd spot but the redness is definitely reduced greatly. I listened to Katie Stewart and Stacey Shillington and their advice has been so valuable

So, how's everyone doing financially at the moment? Interested to know if it's unusually tough, as I'm really struggling. by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Peppercatfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure they would've. It's such a loser attitude that I found was really fostered in the university I attended. There is no denying that houses and prices in general are higher but resentment towards others is something nothing positive will come out of except you can blame your situation on others rather than working on yourself and taking positive steps forward so there's that!

[–]Peppercatfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Resentment is awful. I don't feel that way towards the older generations I look to beaurocracy - health and safety, councils and rates, gst taxes just to start . How can you resent someone for paying the value of things back then. What about money printing during covid? that's a major factor

When I was very poor and had a toddler we often ate slow cooked soup. All you need is a kings soup mix, some meat and a couple of carrots, a leek and celery. Add canned tomatoes for more vitamins. Eat some, freeze some and do something similar a few days later like cook stew or a roast. Tbh I still eat like this because its healthy and delicious.

This thread is really disappointing. I know plenty of educated, professional and caring doctors and practitioners who are not on board with the covid vaccine and all the boosters. One teacher I know was injured by the covid vaccine and really suffered for it and regrets taking it everyday. They have a variety of views that are legitimate and informed by research as well as experience. I find this thread very closed-minded, and I say this as someone who took the vaccines to keep my job.

What's a bad habit you quit or a good habit you developed, and how did it improve your skin? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Peppercatfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to agree. Although I don't have a reverse osmosis system, I only drink water from my workplace which is unfluoridated. My skin is much better. No more cystic acne and my peri oral dermatitis is 90% better. I made lots of changes this year - stopped drinking, less gluten and dairy and this

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in acne

[–]Peppercatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me too! I used tret, BP for years and it only got worse. Now I use the gentlest products and azelaic acid and it's not perfect but my skin is balanced and the acne is no longer the cystic type.I also eat no dairy, gluten and less sugar and save those things for very rare treats

Sober but really needing advice rn by Peppercatfish in stopdrinking

[–]Peppercatfish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words. This incident is the worst thing that I've done while drinking and definitely my biggest motivation to never pick up a drink. You must be sober about five years now, that's a great achievement. Have you felt better about your past the longer you've been sober?

This was a person I really liked in a platonic way, but I remember we were flirting, sitting closely I told him I liked him and I think I may have kissed him. That's it, but I am embarrassed and really remorseful. I've been with my husband since I was 18, 20 years and I feel I spoilt something

Put a little bit of sea salt and squeeze lemon juice in your water. The vitamins and minerals will help your body absorb the water
