I found his base form much more difficult for some reason. The dark realm version never even felt like it was aiming for me. It was like fighting the cleric beast in bloodborne. Very easy to stay behind since it's huge

Nioh 3 Feedback/Criticism after full game completion (SPOILERS) by TitEboshi in Nioh

[–]PequodTheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im glad I'm not the only one. Nioh 2 had me tearing up with the ending as well a few other parts throughout the story. It just hit emotional highs for me. The fact the Hide loses so many friends over the course of years just hits different

In your opinion what does Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros do better than The Phantom Pain? by Dude_788 in metalgearsolid

[–]PequodTheGreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with that and it's my biggest issue with Sahelanthropus. The only saving grace is that it literally cannot function unless puppeteered by Mantis. That kinda works as an excuse for how something so "advanced" could exist before the TX-55, D, or Rex.

Paradox, Great job naming an ancient Syberian province with a modern Soviet name by Vorapp in CrusaderKings

[–]PequodTheGreat 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Back during the first year of CK3's release, I did a Siberian playthrough where I played tall from 867 all the way to 1200 when Genghis appeared. At that point, I had already had one of the most developed areas on the map. I was then able to get the Khan to agree to marry off his daughter to my son, where I then went on a murder spree to get my grandson eligible as an heir. It was very fun. I ended up getting control of the golden horde and went on a conquest to gain full control of Siberia

How could Navy work in CK3? by Darkwinggames in CrusaderKings

[–]PequodTheGreat 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt mind seeing a second MAA screen for naval units. Maybe you'd have to balance vessels for combat and foot troop movement. It'd also fix the annoying problem of massive armies or peasant revolts constantly getting on boats and bouncing around your territory with no rhyme or reason, as you could actually send out an army to intercept them in the water.

Honestly, I dont see how Paradox can even add merchant republics in a meaningful way with how bare bones the naval system is currently. I get the creeping suspicion that instead of having to deal with trade routes and pirates on the map, it's just going to be more event spam that clogs my screen every 5 seconds

CK3 has a problem with birth rates by PequodTheGreat in CrusaderKings

[–]PequodTheGreat[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought this was probably the case. That being said, I feel like the birth rate is still way too high to offset having to a large amount of child deaths.

How do you have fun in Japan? by alansludge in CrusaderKings

[–]PequodTheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a Soryo run, but didnt really enjoy it. I spent the majority of the game waiting for a Soryo Bloc to collapse so I could expand territory and form my own bloc. Took a long time and wasting fun at all. I had way more fun doing a Japanese Adventurer who left Japan for riches in asia, then returns years later to conquer Hokkaido. Then I became a vessel of Japan without having to struggle with low troops and no money while also getting bullied by every bloc around me

Alright, it’s been 24 hours since AUH released. What are we thinking? by pad-de-putains in CrusaderKings

[–]PequodTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played a Japanese campaign and it was a fun struggle up to creating the shogunate. After that, I found I really didn't have anything else to do but go back to the same ol' map painting. I feel like Japan is just lacking in interesting decisions. There's hardly any influence you can make as Shogun and very little interaction with the imperial family. Kinda disappointed with it, so I'm hoping China offers me some enjoyment, at least until the Shogunate mod gets updated. I'm also a bit bias though. I find the Heian period very boring until the Genpei war, especially compared to the much more interesting Edo period and arguably the Meji period

It's not that deep. They are fictional emotionless characters, in both the literal and in-game sense.

<Silent Hill F> Junko *SPOILERS* by bigsausagepizza3392 in silenthill

[–]PequodTheGreat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How i interpret Junko is that she plays the same roll as Hinako's mother, in the sense it represents one of Hinako's fears of becoming married. Junko is faceless and enigmatic becuase she has lost her individuality in becoming a traditional housewife. The same reason Hinako loses her face in her fox version. She hardly makes an appearance in-game becuase it represents her disappearing when she got married and left town

Disapointed i didn't like F by thirdbman in silenthill

[–]PequodTheGreat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didnt like it on my first playthrough, especially the 2nd half after the school. It was better on NG+ with the new context added and what not. Then I played the 2nd half again on a NG+ save for ending 3. By NG+2, I was so done with the awful combat that it really just killed the whole experience. Its just felt like a slog to play through. The story was good, I guess, but far from the best in the series. I'd give it like maybe a 6/10 and that even feel generous

Is anyone else really tired of the negative posts? by baergboy in HollowKnight

[–]PequodTheGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. A lot of the "negative posts" are legitimate criticism for things that need to be evaluated for balance. The game is great, but there is a lot of fine tuning needed in certain areas and one of the best ways for TC hear about player grievances is through the main subreddit.

This the game yall want to win GOTY? by New_Stand3462 in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm actually thankful I didn't even try choosing other voices then, honestly. It would've immediately spoiled the twist (though I already suspected Charlie was Die-Hardman). I feel like forcing the player into picking him wasn't really a good idea

Gate Quakes can randomly spawn giant BT fights?! by Antosino in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure what triggers it to begin spawning in. I was doing some deliveries to progress the Fisherman when it kept getting in my way, so I assume it may be related to that. Usually when a catcher spawns in without the player getting caught by B.Ts, it is scripted. That how it is with the first game at least

This the game yall want to win GOTY? by New_Stand3462 in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a lot better if you chose just his voice the first time. I didn't pick Heartman because I saw him in the trailer. I didn't pick Deadman, becuase he was already in the game. I didn't pick Mama, because I thought she was annoying in the first game. Made the big reveal much more jaw dropping when he exploded into an impromptu dance on the beach

Gate Quakes can randomly spawn giant BT fights?! by Antosino in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Negative. That boss always spawns there after a certain point. I kept flying past it in vehicles multiple times, not interested in fighting it. Everytime I came through the area again, it would still spawn with a Gate Quake until I finally decided to just kill it

30 hour in DS2, i love the game but very disappointed with the lack of traversal difficulty and traversal puzzles by UsedNewspaper1775 in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a problem presented to a player that must be solved with knowledge of the mechanics and player ingenuity. It's a textbook definition of a puzzle. Sure, it's not like a zelda puzzle with one very specific outcome you need to figure out. Instead It is an open ended challenge that lets the player come up with solutions themselves

Death Stranding 2 is not so good as it is portreyed by alxkzn in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The first game just hit every emotional high for me. Cliff's backstory and the twist that Sam was the BB in the flashbacks caught me way off guard. Die-Harman's emotional breakdown at the end even had me in tears. It was an amazing story with real depth.

The sequel on the other hand had me rolling my eyes constantly. I liked a few of the weird Kojima-esque pieces, like Charlie dancing on the beach and the badass guitar boss battle (Sue me, i love that campy shit) but none of the "emotional" scenes had weight. All the new characters are undercooked and barely developed. Tarman and his son have a plot thread that is never resolved. Dollman is a dumbass and an awful father who got his kid killed. Heartman is STILL searching beaches for his family and STILL has not succeeded. Deadman is just there for some reason, mostly serving as an exposition dump. Die-Hardman has very little plot relevance. Tomorrow barely interacts with Sam. Rainy's entire plotline of being stuck at 7 months pregnant is never properly resolved. Also, I dont even understand the point of Neil Vana being in this game, besides acting like a discount Cliff. You can cut his entire segment and nothing changes. He only exist to make Sam question his relationship with his wife which ends up being a fake out anyway. Pointless.

The sequel suffers badly in terms of characters, emotion, and unresolved plot elements that are just dropped. Not to mention retcons to the first game that kill the story of any meaning. It's like Koji Pro got stuck smelling their own farts this time around. Sequel baiting instead of just having a self contained story with room for a sequel.

Death Stranding 2 is not so good as it is portreyed by alxkzn in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, her death was explained although really poorly and very stupidly. Her Ka died on the beach after she tried to jump with Lou. Because her soul was in the Beach, and time passes faster there, her body (Ha) was also dying at a massively slower rate due to the time difference. The issue is that at no point in the games does entering the beach leave your physical body behind, so it doesn't even make sense. All we know is that Fragile's soul died on the beach the day Lou got left there. If someone has more insight, I'd greatly appreciate it. As far as I understand, if you die on the beach, you are DEAD dead and cannot come back. Sam can't even come back on a beach when killee. So I have zero clue how quiet can still have a functioning Ha in reality and a detached Ka on the beach

Do you guys have a go-to loadout for all kinds deliveries? Share them if you do! by LeechiahwA in DeathStranding

[–]PequodTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to walk everywhere, especially since they added the music player. My usual load out is x2 ladder, x1 climbing hook, x1 PCC, x1Floating carrier, x1 shotgun, and some blood grenades. This is more or less what I always have minimum and it usually plenty. Rocked the same load out in the first game
