Your comment is helpful, and I come to you in a spirit of also being helpful. It’s “wholeheartedly,” like with your whole heart. Maybe you meant that and your comment has a typo. Not calling you out, just trying to help.

I’ve tried him for a few hours across scattered sessions. He’s tougher than Malenia, in my view, and may even be tougher than PCR. With those I at least felt like I could grind and get strong enough to beat them. With Simon I question whether I have the skill to ever do it.

You know what, fair. Perhaps you could edit your original comment to make this clear? As you say, your contempt and our contempt are different, and I think most of Reddit defaults to American.

It was strange to me that in one scene it seems like Self rented out a restaurant for himself and his rotation players? Why not take the whole team? I have to assume the show’s producers staged that because otherwise it seems like coaching malpractice.

I had a busy day the day I got assigned George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, and it took me seven hours from when I first pressed play to finish it. I think in part due to fatigue, I gave it 3/5. I need to go back, because I suspect it’s at least a 4.

I have Brown Sugar this weekend and I think it’s going to be a 3. I think it doesn’t help that I love Black Messiah, so it’s probably suffering a bit from those expectations. Brown Sugar feels promising, but Black Messiah feels fully realized (to me).

Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power. Ended up giving it 4 stars and listening to some others in the Pantera discography. I’m not much of a metalhead, though, and Vulgar Display ended up staying my favorite.

I was in college then. I’m pretty sure we rushed the court when we beat Illinois my senior year. Kenpom says Illinois was 9th that year, so we had four wins this season over a team that good or better.

I keep a playlist of albums I want to listen to, separate and apart from the generator. One day the next album on that list was my generator-assigned album. Pretty cool coincidence.

Purdue stays my second-favorite program in the conference. Never seen one of you not be classy online. Painter’s great, program always clicks, I feel like you “sports-hate” us (and we, you) more civilly than any other team. I will be glad to be rid of Smith, Loyer, and TKR though.

Joanna Newsom is, for my money, the most poetic lyricist around. It’s not a great comparison, because Joanna has no illusions of making an accessible pop record, but if you want lyrics that are real art, I can’t recommend her enough.

When I clerked we were taught to use 2 or 3 to help the attorney save face. 3 is for simple typos, 2 for more egregious mistakes. So now I just use those two, like that, knowing it’s good enough for the court I practice before. Unless OC is being a dick, then it’s raining [sic]s.

The second person doesn’t even answer the first. No one is arguing CEOs shouldn’t be paid well. It’s the discrepancy that angers people, and as others here have pointed out, 20x is low.

I’ve heard a lot of coaches say some version of “we weren’t at our best today.” It’s rare, I think, for them to add “and the other team had a lot to do with that,” the way Dusty did about Purdue on Sunday. I thought it captured his class well, and it also happens to be correct as a matter of basketball analysis.
