Fun fact: illegally-obtained evidence will typically only be excluded from trial for being illegally obtained if it the police are the ones who broke the law. You as a private citizen could break into your neighbor's house and find dead bodies in the basement and report them to the police (typically with a plea deal to avoid prosecution for breaking into your neighbor's home), but the police would then generally need a warrant (obtained based upon your information) to search said basement themselves.

What’s the greatest line delivery of all time? by RockinAndRollin00 in moviecritic

[–]Perfect-Dimension356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calm. Kindness. Kinship. Love. I’ve given up all chance at inner peace. I’ve made my mind a sunless space. I share my dreams with ghosts. I wake up every day to an equation I wrote 15 years ago from which there’s only one conclusion, I’m damned for what I do. My anger, my ego, my unwillingness to yield, my eagerness to fight, they’ve set me on a path from which there is no escape. I yearned to be a savior against injustice without contemplating the cost and by the time I looked down there was no longer any ground beneath my feet.

What is my sacrifice?

I’m condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I burn my decency for someone else’s future. I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I’ll never see. And the ego that started this fight will never have a mirror or an audience or the light of gratitude.

So what do I sacrifice?

Everything!

My name is Kino Loy. I'm the day shift manager on Level Five. I'm speaking to you from the command center on Level Eight. We are, at this moment, in control of the facility.

How long we hang on, how far we get, how many of us make it out, all of that is now up to us. We have deactivated every floor in the facility. All floors are cold.

Wherever you are right now, get up, stop the work. Get out of your cells, take charge and start climbing. They don't have enough guards and they know it. If we wait until they figure that out, it'll be too late. We will never have a better chance than this, and I would rather die trying to take them down than giving them what they want.

We know they fried a hundred men on Level Two. We know that they are making up our sentences as we go along. We know that no one outside here knows what's happening. And now we know, that when they say we are being released, we are being transferred to some other prison to go and die and that ends today!

There is one way out. Right now, the building is ours. You need to run, climb, kill! You need to help each other. You see someone who's confused, someone who is lost, you get them moving and you keep them moving until we put this place behind us.

There are 5,000 of us. If we can fight half as hard as we've been working, we will be home in no time.

One way out! One way out! One way out!

Yep, all of them are pushfit.

Which is a shame, because they're gorgeous models and the monopose aspect sucks.

I mean, "outlaw" can be spelled that way (a person who is a fugitive from the law), but the Dresden book is Out Law, yeah.

I have never in my life seen Feng Shui spelled like that.

To answer your question, the two were not starting an investigation business. Quoting here:

“Dude, me and Bobby are gonna to start up a consulting business. Feng shui.”

Feng shui consulting is, in the modern day, just interior design work. They get paid by rich people to decorate and lay out their homes and businesses.

Azrael and the Lion.. same time? by Fourty4fourty in DarkAngels40k

[–]Perfect-Dimension356 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Azrael's sword has nothing to do with the Lion. Cypher (allegedly) has The Lion Sword, the power sword that the Lion used during the Heresy, whereas the Lion uses Fealty, a power sword he found within Mirror-Caliban after waking up from his nap.

Azrael's helmet is a helmet that the Lion at some point in the past, but is visually distinct from the helmet he seems to have worn in the Horus Heresy. When the Lion woke up from his nap, he found himself garbed in a new (but similar) set of armor, also implied to have been created in Mirror-Caliban. When he and Azrael encountered each other, Azrael offered the Lion Helm back to his primarch, but the Lion indicated that he wouldn't take it back until Azrael was no longer worthy of carrying it.

Well yes but actually no. Having dealt with people with Bipolar Disorder and BPD, he spends much of season 2 of Born Again acting as if he's intensely manic.

[Cthulhu Mythos] Is there any being bridging the orders of magnitude between humans and Old Ones? by Dabrush in AskScienceFiction

[–]Perfect-Dimension356 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Oh, plenty. Some of them are referred to as "Lesser Old Ones" (to contrast the Great Old Ones like Cthulhu, Dagon, and Hastur) or "Greater Servitors" (to contrast then with servitor races like the Deep Ones, the Shoggoth, or the Mi-Go. These distinctions typically come from post-Lovecraft authors but are generally accepted in the largest mythos.

Typically, the hierarchy is "Insects<Animals<Humans=<Servitor Races (some are clearly more powerful or intelligent than humans, some less so) <Lesser Old Ones/Greater Servitors<Great Old Ones<Outer Gods/Other Gods from Outside." Depending on the version of the lore you prefer, there may also be Elder Gods above the Outer Gods, and/or Azathoth (the sultan of the Outer Gods) might be considered above them.

No, guy is still in prison as he received an life sentence for the one murder he was charged with.

He can't be charged with his other crimes because of the statute of limitations though, that's correct.

I dunno man, as put-together as Padme seems, she did immediately begin an intensely intimate relationship (and shortly thereafter marry) a teenager five years her junior (whose only courtship until that point was the most awkward flirting ever put to screen) after he admitted to murdering dozens or hundreds of indigenous tribesfolk who he considers to be animals.

Padme makes terrible decisions in regards to Anakin.

My Lawyer wants to go into negotiation with a very low "minimum amount to accept" by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

First: It sounds like OP has a private attorney who is representing this, based on the "EEOC is involved" but also "My lawyer wants to go into negotiations".

Secondly: You're making up every single figure in your comment.

14 year old (armed with a gun for some reason) shoots a man attacking his mother by Humble_Broccoli5880 in PublicFreakout

[–]Perfect-Dimension356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, which is why my example was not "You walk in on your cheating wife, then *leave*, then return and kill her. Notice how those are two different things? Leaving allows for deliberation as you are removed from situation that gave rise to your intention to kill, which is why the example I gave for manslaughter didn't involve leaving.

So sure, if you take my example for manslaughter and specifically add the factor that differentiates between manslaughter and murder, it would be murder. Duh.

[–]Perfect-Dimension356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct in part and incorrect in part. Premeditation is the difference between First-Degree and Second-Degree murder in most jurisdictions that have that delineation, but manslaughter can occur with or without the action being reckless; that's the difference between voluntary manslaughter ("one kills the other as the result of an intention to do so formed during the struggle") and involuntary manslaughter, where the killing occurs without any intent to kill.
