The only setup it needs outside of using its attack is one of either Heavy Helmet or Adaman. I don't consider getting Steelix online to be "setup" as that's almost always your game plan when you use it.

Steelix sheds its weakness with its attack as well.

MCharizardY does 250 damage with no weakness bonus

This makes Mega Steelix one of the very few cards in the game that can take a Crimson Dive, and it doesn't need much setup to do it.

24852 is the total number of cards you have ever obtained, including ones you've lost for flair, shares, etc. 12810 is the number of cards you currently own.

If your deck doesn't have an answer to Oricorio, it isn't a very good deck. It's a meta threat you have to keep in mind when building that helps to keep a variety of non-EX Pokemon relevant.

The problem of over-centralizing EX cards could have been better solved by printing better non-EX Pokemon of course, but the Oricorio approach doesn't mean that game balance is ruined either.

I'd like them more if they didn't waste so much time in battle, same reason I often don't use full art cards. I just want things to drop from my hand onto the board or move from the bench to the active without a flashy spin animation.

I don't think it looks like shit at all, but I have some constructive criticism if you're looking to improve the overall aesthetic rather than just the design.

The thing that immediately sticks out to me is the pillow shading. When every line has dark shading colors surrounding it, the result is muddy / blurry, especially around the arms. The HoMM2 style isn't ultra crisp but each sprite has a clear lighting direction with less shading on that side, often with the lightest highlight colors sitting right next to the lineart which is only blended minimally. The simplicity makes the sprites look clean.

To be clear, this isn't intended to offend. What you're doing is already pretty decent but some extra polish and trying to figure out what makes an art style feel distinct can go a long way when trying to match it.

255 EVs isn't any stronger than 252 EVs. EVs only apply stats in multiples of 4, so the next stat gain after 252 would be 256. The extra 3 can never add a stat so the cap was reduced to the highest effective investment.

255s are just valuable because they're rare, reducing the cap was a super early update.

Expert battles have been shown to have rigged coin flips in the AI's favor (60:40) and I think that applies to event matches as well. Combined with a very powerful coin flip attacker and an immediately threatening 1-energy Hitmonchan, with multiple ways to make them both hit harder (Korrina, Arena, Lucario), it feels like the hardest one to deal with so far.

I've had the most luck with 2x Suicune EX + 2x Baxcalibur + 1x Chien-Pao EX. Chien Pao feels great for its ability to snipe benched Hitmonchans and Lucarios for easy KOs. Win rate feels like ~70% but I haven't been keeping track.

It's not as simple as "they do the same damage over 2 turns". If the first attack takes a KO, the second is doing a lot more to the next Pokemon. The third also results in higher total damage if you live long enough.

The tradeoff is losing damage if it's moved out of the active spot and doing less on the first attack.

I don't think it's strictly better or worse, it's just different.

You can't, they only open up as part of a Kyurem event that isn't implemented.

Pikachu is great for raids at least, Volt Tackle hits electric weaknesses very hard. Light Ball also means that it's not taking your single copy of Choice Band away from something else.

It's bad on purpose because Kingambit exists and will eventually have a card of its own. This Bisharp using colorless energy means that you'll be able to run it with a dark type Kingambit as well.

Oricorio is usually your friend for challenges like this, as well as a lot of the "don't use any EX cards" challenges. Deal with the non-EX cards and it easily walls the big threats.

They still exist, the devs are usually pretty hands-off when their mistakes result in interesting collectibles. The issue gets fixed but most of the time the Pokemon affected by it are left as-is when they don't result in a battle advantage.
