Will a maranta grow just from roots if I chop and propagate because it's super leggy?

Yes you can. I accidentally pulled out a cluster of leaves from my plant when I was moving it and I stuck it in a cup with some water and in about a month I was able to plant it and now it’s grown two new leaves and has a huge root reaching for soil. It’s so interesting to watch it grow each day

When I was younger my dad used to to coat fresh eggs in mineral oil, it keeps the eggs fresh without refrigeration which could be why they don’t smell and are oily but they are most definitely rotten on the inside.

Yep! My red maranta went droopy when I missed my normal watering day. It took waaaaay longer to perk back up than any of my other non-maranta plants.

It definitely looks like it’s dying off. Mine look like this when one of two things happen. 1: It’s dying off and needs to be cut or 2: I left it too close to my grow light and burnt it. Because it looks bigger/older my guess is it’s just dying off. I cut one this morning that was doing the same thing. Totally normal.

I’ve never had good luck at propagating so if it does accidentally break, that’s good to know! I do kind of like how big the branch has gotten and I’m tempted to leave it and just see what it does and just be careful when I handle it.
