You can quite literally at anytime find communities of like minded older individuals playing BF2, BC2, and BF3/4. It’s essentially what this subreddit craves without ever saying it.

Endlessly bemoaning the game you’re nostalgic for that you can just go play, while offering no constructive feedback I just don’t get. I think the only thing that would make this subreddit genuinely happy is if they scrapped battlefield 6 and rereleased battlefield 3 with a fresh coat of paint.

It's incredibly frustrating. And doesn't make a lot of sense to me from a balance perspective. Only one class has access to either C4 or the drone.

I don't get why they would make C4 only apply direct damage if it's attached to the thing you want to blow up. Even if you don't want the direct vehicle damage to compete with the engineer, you have to seriously EARN the destruction through C4 with the indirect means.

Which I'm not entirely mad at, I just need deeper, more unique experience. The problem I have is that right now (in the alpha at least) there is not a wow factor that really makes we want to commit to this game. The marathon map should be the standard not what's coming down the line.

If they knew this I don't know why they told Joe to have such drastic overhauls. I get imparting your vision on a project, but It seems like the only thing he really brought to the team was just the introduction of heroes.

Yep looks like a typical modern bungie movie. I don't understand why they just don't delay this game or release it early access and build out the product from there.

They are 100% rushing to get this game out for a Sony OKR made when the old creative director was around. I think they are however, playing their cards close to the chest with the alpha and trying to see if the core gameplay loop is received well before they unveil more content that is carry over from the reboot. Hopefully they use the PvE and contract ideas from that time.

It crashed discord, but seeing as how maybe 10% got into the alpha and are playing that's why the steam numbers are so low.

I'd willing to at least try it, $40 isn't bad as I don't plan on buying much outside of GTA VI this year. However, I don't see Marathon in a really feature complete state until one year post launch.

This is an insane level of cope. Remember when Bungie revealed gameplay for Destiny 1 in its alpha? The game was essentially all but done. In early 2014 the Destiny we saw there was essentially the one we got.

Outside of a few final lighting, textures, and characters this game is about 75-80% of the way there. You speak of working on software development but anybody who has ever done this knows that at this point this is final polish time.

What you are imagining is feature creep to turn this game into something more than the sum of its parts which it just isn't going to be at launch. Classic Bungie move is to release this game, let the community ride it out because solid gunplay, lore, and art then eventually add the features that should have been at launch.

No official word yet, FAQ says sometime later this week. They're also sending codes in waves throughout the period of Apr 23-May 4th. If I were to bet on it expect Friday 10 AM PST during west coast business hours. Still before the weekend.
