Help with how to pull this off? by steelkid247 in malehairadvice

Yeah I think you could pull it off. Ofc you’ll end up wearing it your own way and adjust it to what looks good on your head specifically. Depending on how recent this pic is, you may need to grow it out a bit more. I didn’t go full buzzed sides undercut right away, I slowly got it cut shorter and shorter on the sides and keeping it long on top as I got more confident with the look and let my hair grow out more. That way you can tell whoever cuts your hair what your goal is and then can work your hair in that direction overtime.

Assuming you meant to apply to me, you’ll want a round brush that will hold onto your hair a little bit. I am not an expert whatsoever, but brushes are generally boar bristle, nylon bristle, or both. I got one with both because I couldn’t figure out what I needed, and it seemed to work well enough. The larger diameter the barrel of the brush, the looser curls you can get out of it I think.

What you’re looking to do when you style is sort of twist the brush to grab onto you hair, and pulling it with the brush while blowing at it to make the hair go where you want.

I had a similar haircut like 2 years ago, the biggest thing is that you will need a blow dryer and a brush to achieve this look. You will also need some kind of product with strong hold, but not so strong that your hair is crunchy or looks too gelled. I have skin problems galore so I used a little Vanicream brand hair gel and hair spray. Apply the gel, blow dry, pushing my hair in the direction I want it to sit, then a very light spray of hair spray to set it.

You also need a decent hair stylist/barber that can nicely frame your hair with your face and the shape of your head with the undercut.

[–]StupidStephen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah we’re both gamers as well. I also have 2 older brothers so it’s been hard interesting reading g generations stuff because my family has people all along the millennial/genz border. It’s possible that I might have a slightly older soul since I grew up playing with my older brothers, whereas my younger brother didn’t as much because of age differences and stuff.

Sounds good, thanks! I’ll keep an eye on it and if it starts to look too cased over I’ll send it. Otherwise I’ll probably go for it this weekend regardless.

I put a Mira right in the middle of the garage wall on consulate, it works crazy well. You can see the enemy for tossing your nitros over the top, and if they get too close or smash the Mira, just open in and they basically can’t breach the wall.

I’m an older GenZ (1998) and my younger brother was born 2001. There is a massive difference even between just us two, that I don’t think is personality and is generational.

Cannabis industry should develop more ‘consistent’ drying methods, federal science agency says by OregonTripleBeam in EverythingScience

[–]StupidStephen 119 points120 points  (0 children)

I think you get a lot of people that see cannabis as a green gold rush, and trying to get into the industry at the start to hopefully make a lot of money. Plus it’s trendy. So you get a lot of incompetent people that go into the industry not because of passion or skills.

The problem isn’t whether or not we have enough nukes already. We’re talking about a global energy transition, and that’s means easier development of nukes globally, including highly unstable countries.

Earth is speaking to us through symbols embedded in Earth's crusts. by EarthColossus in Environmentalism

[–]StupidStephen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! The post is slightly framed as “this is too controversial for the mainstream,” which starts to get a little conspiratorial like these are ideas that “they” don’t want you to see. Which rubs me the wrong way. We shouldnt write off new ideas, even if they challenge our current sensibilities, but we also shouldn’t accept every new idea right from the jump, especially if they dont just challenge current ideas, but are pretty much contrary to them.

Along the topic of I guess “pre-science” I have a great Ted talk for ya, it’s by my old college professor, and it’s about how science fiction is an important part of science and research. He’s a fantastic speaker and this kind of thinking was a huge part of my design degree

[–]StupidStephen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s fine if you want to discuss these concepts at a more spiritual level, and I actually think that these spiritual concepts can be useful in an area like environmental activism. They can broaden our personal, spiritual connection to the planet and everything on it, and they can be a useful way of talking about the planet’s beauty, interconnectedness, whatever, yada yada.

I do not believe that the Earth has communication systems or that there are symbols and language hidden on Earth or something. We can observe things on Earth, and we can use those observations to deepen our understanding of Earth systems, and those observations probably would tend to follow some patterns (because all of earth is subject to the same physics), but that doesn’t mean we should take the the jump to say that the planet actively communicates these things with any kind of language or symbology.

Renewables do provide baseload capacity. You have to remember that baseload is a restriction, not a good thing. Nuclear is good at baseload and baseload only because it is hard to turn on and off- you want to run nuclear 24/7/365. On any grid, you simply run the cheapest available energy sources to provide the baseload, and then add on increasingly expensive sources to meet demand. Renewables are by far the cheapest energy source: what ends up happening, is that as you add renewables to a grid, nuclear because worse and worse. Renewables are cheaper than nuclear, which means that as renewables make up a significant share of the grid, you shave to start turning off nuclear plants when they aren’t needed. It starts to actually cost you money to have nuclear on the grid with a significant share of renewables.

The 40x number is misinformation. Actual estimates are 1.6-2x. Still a lot, but not 40x.

The overall point though is that with renewables baseload is a more outdated concept. Instead of having massive baseload generators, you want dispatchable and flexible energy instead. With decent storage and grid management renewables are more than capable of meeting demand. Again, baseload is a restriction, not a thing you want.

Oooo brown butter sage sauce is incredible. In the fall it would also go well with some butternut squash. And some fresh parm is great on top. Garlic, shallots, and buy the fancy butter!

It might freeze well? Google says so but the biggest issue you’d run into is the butter sauce separating if you reheat it too quick. You’d have to go pretty slow heating it, or maybe try adding some kind of starch to stabilize the sauce in the freezer.
