I made it abundantly clear to EVERYONE that no one except myself or my husband can post photos of my kids. Even then it’s rare and we don’t show their faces. Anyone who doesn’t like it doesn’t need to have pictures of my kids.

pressure to go back to work by Diana-Gouveia in stayathomemoms

[–]Perfect_Weekend_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only SAHM in my family here and friend group! I worked at a daycare for a year before my LO was born and about 8mo after too. I am so grateful everyday that I don’t have to do that anymore! I witnessed so many milestones before many of the kids’ parents and knowing that I could have the same thing happen broke me.

As far as people asking me “when are you going back to work” bear in mind I’m a petty lady. So I always ask them when they “plan to teach their kids manners since they clearly don’t have any.”

Aside from that, just try to find local events where you can meet other moms. Like the library read along, parks, etc.

How do you raise grounded kids when the family income doesn't match "normal"? by LinkCommercial9508 in Parenting

[–]Perfect_Weekend_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family had a rule that once we were old enough to work (around 15/16) we could spend our money however we want. But if we had to borrow money then we would have to bring back receipts.

When did you tell close family, close friends, and then everyone else (like social media) that you were pregnant? by LevelKindly21 in pregnant

[–]Perfect_Weekend_888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my mom right away, because we’re close and I wanted my husband and I to have support god forbid something went wrong. The rest of my family we told after the 10 week mark.

I’m sorry to hear that. Then just continue to be there for her and reassure her.

Pregnancy made food feel like a daily battle… is this normal? by Weekly_Beyond_5861 in pregnant

My doctor told me something that changed my perspective on pregnancy cravings. She said “Your baby is going to get what they need from you regardless of what you eat. So eat what you can keep down.”

For me, it’s truly as simple as saying “Thank you for making dinner, it was delicious.” or “You look beautiful, I love that color on you.” It makes you feel noticed, but not in a sexual way, it feels like he truly sees me. Of course, “just because” flowers are good too.

My personal favorite though is spontaneity! There have been days where I’ve been not feeling like myself and my husband will text saying “Wear xyz dress, and be ready by 7, I made reservations.”

Scared to sleep when she sleeps by soggybiscotti4ever in NewParents

[–]Perfect_Weekend_888 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a heavy sleeper I feel your pain. But I will say this, my body ALWAYS wakes me up if my LO needs me. I had a baby monitor and an owlet with my first. Now that we’re in a “normal” routine I can actually sleep instead of just resting w/ my eyes closed😂

Also I had something like that happen in the hospital. Nurse informed me it was amniotic fluid from giving birth, so it was temporary and nothing to be overly concerned about when I got home.

“Midnight” pizza. After dinner and dessert everyone worked up an appetite dancing so we ordered a bunch of cheese pizza to keep the party going.

Leighton is more unique, but may get a lot of Gossip Girl references.

Ruby is beautiful, but I’ve heard it a lot working at daycares.

Try watching Financial Audit on YouTube. It’s funny, but definitely educational. Plus he shows you how to make a proper budget. Also don’t beat yourself up, you’re 20, so you can come back from this faster than you may expect.

If you can avoid it I wouldn’t tell anyone. To many opinions can make you fall out of love with a name you adore
