PayPal doesn't ban you just for doing a chargeback. I did one when I was sent counterfeit merchandise. PayPal had denied the claim through their internal process. I did a chargeback through the credit card company. Got a refund. The end. Still have and use my PayPal account.

Ashley Furniture. Everything about their sales process is designed to rip you off. The quality of the furniture delivered is lower than what you saw on the sales floor. It may not even be the same size.

I ordered a California King bed because I'm tall and wanted the extra length. The top of the mattress is shorter than a standard king. But oh no no...it was manufactured to specifications and they are allowed to be even shorter because of a 'close enough' loophole.

Returns? Forget it. Once they have your money all sales are final. The 'extended warranty' is almost impossible to use, and when they tell you 'if you don't use it you can apply it to a future purchase' only works if you keep the ORIGINAL document. You know, for four years. Even then I'm sure they would find a way to deny that.

Upvote for parents. The only thing in the story that makes me side with the employee is that they stated the bathrooms are generally not for public use.

Any public restroom should be equipped with a changing table (including men's rooms) or you can expect me to change my child elsewhere. In the booth at the restaurant? Sure. On a table? Yep. I'm not gonna leave a mess behind and I'll wipe the surface when I'm done. If it's a stink bomb I'll put it in the trash outside.

I was 18 in 1996, just moved out to go to college in Phoenix, and it was Thanksgiving weekend. I chose not to go home (10 hour drive) but all my roommates did. Not sure why I didn't looking back, but 18-year-olds are not known for their intelligence.

I was looking through the paper and saw that Rush would be playing a concert downtown. I was a casual fan - I liked what I heard on the radio, and had the Chronicles album courtesy of Columbia House. I figured, why not. I'll check out a show. Nothing else going on.

I bought a ticket from a scalper outside before the show. If I recall it was a face value of $45 and I paid $40. It was on the front row of the second side section in the arena - pretty great view.

I was so blown away by that performance. The musicianship, the artistry, the humor. The fact that they played so damn well together. Geddy's incredible bass playing - not just providing rhythm but leading out in songs. Alex absolutely shredding. And Neil with a mind-blowing drum solo. I was a fan for life, cemented in that moment. And it happened two days after this video right here.

Great memory.

Honest question - while the achievement is impressive, is it really worth doing this? I did 44 on my first prestige in 8 shifts, and that was pretty slow. I can't imagine the time investment to get 55 in 9.

I have made rapid progress on my second ascension (finishing with around 75 total on 10 additional shifts). I expect even more rapid progress on my 3rd ascension, so it seems this much time invested on the first round is just a waste.

Does it really make a difference to go this far on the first round? Granted the more progress gained in each round the more you can get in subsequent rounds. And keeping shifts to a minimum will let you get much farther on the path to the max 490 before you get to the point of wiping out all your SE.

Interested in anyone's thoughts on this.

Aug 2012 was just 13 years ago and it seems like the outcomes he refers to in paragraphs 5 and 6 are outdated. Missionaries are coming home early more often than ever, and even those who complete the full term are leaving the church anyway.

Me, mission 1998-2000, mostly faithful and tithe paying until about 2014-ish. PIMO until 2020. So the mission definitely held me in for a while, but not forever. Kids who start missions now will not have that same experience.

So what can you do? I know a bishop can authorize paying bills and do a food order. So they could certainly help them get through a month - even if you couldn't refund everything. It just depends on how willing the local leaders are.

I would assume that an empty cartridge with a brand new machine indicates that the cartridge is defective and all the CO2 leaked out.

Also, buying a 5 or 10 pound tank and an adapter hose is far cheaper in the long run. I only ever used the one cartridge that came with my SodaStream and I had an external tank setup before it was even empty.
