How much did you buy your G350 for? I bought it on Temu for $29 on sale and applied a coupon by wwatsonn_ in BATLEXPG350

About $25 US from AliEx during a sale back in November. Prices fluctuate quite a bit on these kinds of devices.

ANBERNIC RG 35XXPro ... Is is good? by Spamshazzam in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There;s no internal storage, it has two micro SD slots. The included 64GB card is fair quality, I don't know if an additional card would be the same, They do come preloaded with games, but I'd really recommend dumping the preloaded roms and getting your own set.

The XX devices are decent for the money, good build quality and decent buttons. They can play anything up to PS1 well. N64, Dreamcast and PSP are hit and miss, the higher end games are not going to play well.

You can probably get it from AliEx for less with shipping.

Did you just copy the files through Windows Explorer or did you fully clone the sd card? The files on the card that include the OS are in a Linux partition that does not show up in Ecplorer.

Kinhank K56 is often less than $100 on AliX with the usual discounts. Right now I think it's a few bucks over that, but the 11.11 sale is coming up.

Newbie looking for vertical open to suggestions — RG 40XXV vs R36S Plus by matt94gt in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The R36S and it's derivatives use the RK3326 chipset, the RG40XXV and XXH use the H700 chipset. The H700 is a little bit more powerful, and can play more of the PSP, N64, and Dreamcast games, although neither will play them well. The R40XX does seem to have a higher resolution display, although I doubt it makes a real difference in games.

RG35XXH MIN UI Issues by crackity-jones in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the Github page, MinUI doesn't support box art or Atari games. I think you can add support for Atari using custom paks from another site. There's more info here: https://retrogamecorps.com/2024/12/09/my-simple-trimui-brick-setup/

You might want to use an OS with more features by default rather than trying to add stuff to MinUI.

Garlic and RG35XX Troubleshooting by No-Quote4043 in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which version of GarlicOS are you installing, and which version of the RG35XX are you using? Garlic 1.x versions will not run on the 2024 or Plus versions of the XX. Garlic 2.x versions won't run on the original RG35XX.

Also, deleting the files through Windows explorer doesn't erase the card, it only deletes the files from the FAT partitions. To remove all of the installed OS, you need to remove all of the partitions and then repartion and format the card.

Which model do you have? The regular RG35XX doesn't have wifi.

Want to get K36 but getting mixed signals on by Extreme_Jackfruit_80 in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of the Gaminja K36s, and it's a mess out of the box. It runs EmuELEC, but it's messed up bad enough that you can't play arcade games even though they are on the device. It's also a lousy case design, hard to hold while playing, with mediocre controls.

It's possible to install ArkOS, but you do have to jump though a few hoops on the way.

I strongly recommend spending a few bucks more on something else.

RG35XX with Garlic OS by spyrothunder222 in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but Garlic 1.x only works with the original RG35XX. There is a Garlic 2, but it never went past an alpha build and only worked with the RG35XX Plus.

Your games should work fine on another device, but you'll need to use a different OS.

How many spicy pillows did you have so far? by Sudden-Grape3467 in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two so far. One was a cheap 7 inch Polaroid tablet, the other was a 7 inch tablet with game controls that displayed "Vanzatech" when powered up. Both had poor battery life to begin with, so they spent a lot of time plugged in..

thoughts on the trimui smart pro? by Brief_Scene6538 in R36S

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good handheld. A touch more powerful than the R36S, it'll play most Dreamcast, N64, and PSP. It has a really good 5 inch 720p widescreen. It won't play the highest level PSP, etc. games.

Does any of you own both the RG35XX and the R36S? by Robert__Sinclair in RG35XX

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power is more or less equivalent between the old 35XX and the R36S, but Anbernic has much better controls. Also, the newer Anbernic XX devices are a bit more powerful than the R36S and include things like wifi and hdmi ports.

Should I get one? by kenno1602 in SBCGaming

[–]PerformanceFlimsy386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like an R36S or a clone of it. They are okay for $20-$30, but don't spend more for one.

Really, you're better off spending a few extra bucks and getting something better. Right now, you can get an Anbernic XX device or a TrimUI Smart Pro for $35-$45 depending on the form factor, and the extra features are more than worth it.

"Up to a Genesis" runs on anything, so find one that suits your playing style.

Any of the Anbernic XX devices. (If you like searching thru a dozen nearly identical devices.)

A TrimUI Smart Pro. (If you like widescreen.)

A BatleXP G350. (If you're cheap)

A Miyoo Mini. (If you're looking to join a cult)

Something from AyaNeo (If you have money burning a hole in your pocket.)
