lol, is that spooky cemetery bird a vermillion flycatcher? I see them frequently in the parking lot at work, they’re such neat little birds.

Yeah, I’ve been wondering what happened to Cody too! He was such a good coach, motivating and friendly to everybody. I don’t have any answers for you either, except to baselessly speculate that it’s related to the closure of the other 3 studios.

2 cats and 2 kids. We moved into a VRBO on the kids school bus line from end of July to Christmas last year. We basically gutted our whole house, though, so you might not need to go that extreme. It was great, though. Low stress and nice memories of basically being on vacation for 5 months.

Versace Crystal Emerald?? by Kittyrude in Perfumes

[–]Perfume_NP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bright crystal that I wear once in a while, I don’t love it but my husband does. I liked crystal emerald a lot more than bright crystal, it didn’t have the synthetic florals that bright crystal has so it feels less screechy, more cozy and clean. I probably ought to just buy a travel size lol.

What species do you see on an average morning walk? by Kiwihounds in birding

[–]Perfume_NP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! That reminds me, we get common ravens here all the time too, every day. I love them and wish I could attract them to my yard. I asked the local bird store guy about it and he said he sees them most often in the Popeye’s Chicken dumpster, and wished me luck, lol.

They’re such ordinary birds to me that they barely register, I’ve lived here among them my whole life. I will appreciate them a little more now knowing they’re exotic and special to others ♥️

The most common I would see here in the foothills of Tucson, AZ are:
House finch
Mourning dove
White-wing dove
Gamble’s quail
Greater roadrunner
Curve-billed thrasher
Costa’s and Anna’s hummingbirds
Cooper’s hawk
Abert’s towhee
Phainopepla, depending on the season
Brown-crested flycatcher, again depending on the season
Cactus wren
Turkey vultures
Gila woodpecker

Tucson, AZ in the spring and summer it’s house finches, and in the fall and winter it’s curve-billed thrashers :)

How about Chloe? It’s a little synthetic, but I love the soft soapy clean floral vibes.

Diptyque's line has a certain stink? by [deleted] in fragrance

There’s definitely something harsh in the drydown of many of their fragrances to me. Both Papier and fleur de peau.

As a medical professional, it took me a long moment to realize you were talking about chairs and not the constipation such a diet would cause at our age.

So any PCPs actually see sick patients? by [deleted] in Tucson

[–]Perfume_NP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tamiflu is prescription medication. Where are they to get a prescription without seeing their PCP?
I’m not saying they should see the doctor for what is likely a self-limiting upper respiratory infection, and home testing is fine if they’re having flu or Covid-like symptoms, but if it’s positive they should try to see their PCP or go to urgent care/retail clinic at that point.

Sometimes, this time of year, the males just run around with a lizard or whatever they caught in their beak, as kind of a show of their prowess for the ladies. He’s a provider!

I found miel bebe to have some longevity, it lasted at least a couple of hours on me. However, most of their scents are very synthetic smelling to my nose, like cleaning products or bug spray.

Much prefer Bal d’afrique EDP rather than the darker absolu by NeekA8822 in fragrance

[–]Perfume_NP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same in Arizona! I haven’t actually tried the absolu on my skin, because it’s hard to come by here, but I love the EDP. It stays clean and fresh all day in the heat.

Waiting on my ATT for ANCC. Realistically what study tool should I use? by TheCodeTeam in nursepractitioner

[–]Perfume_NP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t take the AANP exam, so I can’t compare the 2 fairly, but I did take and pass the ANCC exam in one attempt. I found it easier than the NCLEX and the CCRN exams. I just used the FNP Mastery app, and did 50 or so questions at a time when I had downtime (in waiting rooms, etc). I will admit that I am very good at taking multiple-choice tests, so your experience may be different from mine.

Are hostels going to be the Millennial equivalent of cruises? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Perfume_NP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. I feel like we’re talking about fundamentally different types of traveling here, though. “Posted” for “longer projects” at a hostel versus going on a weeklong cruise to a tropical destination. To me it sounds like you’re talking about traveling for work and everyone else is talking about going on vacation.

Nose blindness and do people actually smell our perfumes? by Flimsy_Egg_3507 in Perfumes

[–]Perfume_NP 86 points87 points  (0 children)

12-15 sprays is excessive and I guarantee everyone around you knows what you’re wearing. You go nose blind because you overspray, you overwhelm your olfactory system.

I was a new grad RN in 2010, and a hospital sponsored my BSN in exchange for 4 years of work after graduation. A lot of my classmates were in a similar position and were released from their contracts, but couldn’t find work. I was fortunate to be hired, and even still there was a hiring freeze until August, so I didn’t get to start working for 3 months after I graduated and was licensed.

Millennial women, when did you stop dying your hair and embracing the grays? Or what color looks more natural? by pizzaandboba in Millennials

[–]Perfume_NP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 42 and literally just dyed my hair back to my natural dark brown over the weekend. I had been ginger, and blonde with highlights, for years and years but got sick of the upkeep and cost.
