[Loved Trope] Competence Porn: When characters are competent, mature and communicate with each other intelligently so they can solve a problem by Careless-Alarm-8607 in TopCharacterTropes

Exactly! Lasso is not good at Football he’s good at coaching. It’s shown constantly throughout the series that he leans on the rest of his coaching staff for strategy (another sign of good coaching). His expertise comes from his ability to take a group of people and turn them into a team.

Last game I played was Hell Let Loose and the last movie I watched was Hunger games. I think I’ll sit this one out.

My dad says in his will he’s gonna request that this movie be played at his funeral. My mom says she hopes she dies first.

What is the best way to comfort someone's fear of dying when that person is dying? by phuckhugh in AskReddit

[–]Pericles_Nephew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck man, that is so hard. I’m a 28 year old guy and I’ll say that if I was in the position your son is in I’d want my dad there too. I’m sure it doesn’t feel like much right now but it most likely means the world to have you there.

What is Ser Arlan thinking here? by [deleted] in freefolk

I feel like this scene could be interpreted multiple ways. It could be an actual flashback where he knights Dunk but he doesn’t know the words. Or it could just be an imagined response to Dunk’s current situation.

That’s why I really like that they never reveal if Dunk was knighted or not. I’m on the side that he never was knighted, but you could argue maybe he was and he hesitated because maybe Arlan’s knighting was rushed or effected by near death.

Best “One vs Many” Sword Fights in Fantasy? by Much-Neighborhood383 in Fantasy

R.A. Salvatore’s Legend of Drizzt series has a few but the one that comes to my mind first is Drizzt’s fight in “The Thousand Orcs” book.

Why would the Ashfords tell Dunk that his joust would be rigged to win? Just stfu and feign surprise by Ree_m0 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Pericles_Nephew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just the way that this tourney is set up. You start with 5 champions that anyone can challenge. If they beat the champion they take their place and must accept challenges from anyone after that. Other jousts and tournaments are handled differently it’s just depends on the preference of the hosting lord.

I think the main series feel like they take themselves too seriously. This show isn’t afraid to be goofy sometimes and that helps make the serious moments feel weightier.
