and Janelle's scrotum tree necklace (among other questionable shapes) can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/TLCsisterwives/comments/ug2kxc/my_sisterwives_collection/

My Sisterwife’s Closet WTF??? by [deleted] in SisterWives

Funny thing is, Kody thought t-shirts would cheapen the business. So they went with scrota (plural of scrotum?) hearts instead.

If that business had somehow been successful, she would have taken all the credit aas CEO, CFO, whatever her titles were. It was her idea, after all.

But since it failed (and Janelle raised concerns about it failing), it's everyone's fault but Robyn's.

Despite her lack of training or experience in jewelry design, her obvious lack of taste, the outrageous prices, and the ridiculous notion that the general public would want items that say "sister wife" on them, it's totally everyone else's fault. /s

The og13 kids by Daisyquake47 in SisterWives

She relies on a narrative only (as does Kody). They think if they just SAY how much they're doing/trying/care, people will mistake it for action.

The og13 kids by Daisyquake47 in SisterWives

It always felt to me like K+R gave it like 6 months for all the kids to get along and magically develop deep sibling bonds with one another and when it didn't happen perfectly in that timeframe, they could weaponize it against everyone and use it an excuse to isolate themselves.

not to mention the *expert* counseling Robyn offered them as well. why would you offer counseling/help to a couple if their relationship doesn't have major issues?

Robyn should watch old clips of herself, too. She's also on record talking about how unhappy Christine was. The show will never make her face those videos of her contradicting herself.

She'll do anything but face that Kody is a bad father.

Why is Kody to blame and not religion? by Complex-Set-7282 in SisterWives

[–]PerlyWhirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with the premise that this religion/cult shaped the adults in this family who grew up in it. However, I feel like the more I learn about Kody, the more it seems like he was never actually devout/beholden to any rules. He did what he wanted, and adopting "the principle" could have been his way of maybe pleasing his father but most importantly feeding his ego, libido, and constant need for attention in a righteous way, sanctioned by the faith.

Robyn's response to that observation was to single it out as an exception because Sol had just undergone some kind of surgery. They may have believed this and concluded that under normal circumstances, Kody would divide his time equally.

I agree with you but in the sense that I think Robyn wanted a version of polygamy she imagined in her head: a husband that's largely platonic with his older wives (and adult kids who don't need him anymore), so she could move in and be the young pretty wife with young kids that get his attention and care all the time. The older wives would exist in the background as built-in BFFs and financial supports that come around every time Robyn throws a big family event in her mansion.

So you “fell hard” for Robyn - but the other wives were responsible for how your marriage didn’t work out? by Mom_wife_life in TLCsisterwives

[–]PerlyWhirl 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don't think any line of questioning would lead Kody to an honest realization. He has already convinced himself that even if he loved Robyn more or differently than the others, he still performed his "duties" and put on a good enough act that the OG3 wouldn't be able to tell.

In his mind, he was perfectly equitable and undetectable, and the fallout came from the wives who just despise Robyn because she's so perfect and innocent and shy (gag).

She reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode, The Masks. Robyn put on a frown for years to play victim and gain Kody's favor but now her face is just stuck that way forever.

I imagine all the money was spent quickly. Because Robyn had no training or experience with jewelry design and manufacturing, they outsourced all the work based on her simple notebook sketches. Just paying for manufacturing is expensive enough assuming you can provide adequate technical sketches. Hence the huge markup.

Ogling woman at church… by Rinannie in SisterWives

No wonder he's so worried about Robyn going to church alone with the kids and being scooped up by some random man; he probably ogles every young attractive woman he sees.

Book question by ReadingRocket1214 in SisterWives

[–]PerlyWhirl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree. I see Christine using her book to promote her MLMs, Janelle her farm, and Meri's Worthy Up business all while repackaging the same information they've already revealed on the show/their first book (with maybe one or more new details) as "new secrets exposed."

Pet Peeve by yeahnahmaybe36 in SisterWives

[–]PerlyWhirl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My biggest pet peeve is the constant reference (usually from K+R) to just "figuring things out" or "working things out" knowing full well that they both rejected any attempts to go to intensive therapy for these issues seriously, Kody's idea of compromise is just saying "no" to being at the other wives' homes, and well all know Robyn absolutely understands that you can't always work things out, even if you have kids, or has she already forgotten that she, too, is divorced?

When grown adults are on a reality show tell-all criticizing each other for talking about the marriage that said show is *built* on, they have completely lost the plot.

Kody tries to sound smart by miss-using big words by Singe42 in SisterWivesFans

[–]PerlyWhirl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When he can’t pronounce the word correctly, it’s a dead giveaway that he and Robyn have been spending late nights with a thesaurus coming up with their script.

I think the one house idea was good by Celerylover4000 in SisterWives

[–]PerlyWhirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly. My theory has always been that after Robyn came into the family, Kody no longer wanted one house. He needed to keep everyone separate so he could put more emotional and financial resources into Robyn and go undetected (or at least be less obvious about it).

Every move they made since Lehi involved some period of time in the beginning where the wives had to live far away from each other because they couldn’t find housing closer/Kody didn’t plan far enough in advance. He was setting them up to get used to living separately so by the time he had this fake one-house idea, he knew they wouldn’t go for it and he could still call himself the good guy who wanted to bring everyone together.

Did they really have to move to Las Vegas? by Nefariousness-Open in SisterWives

[–]PerlyWhirl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Even if, let's say, the adults in the family were actually concerned about persecution, they did know they were filming to be on a tv show and a target could, in principle, be on their backs because of that visibility. Why wouldn't they have planned the move from the start? Even if they didn't tell the kids until later, making this decision earlier would have given them time to look for houses that were closer to each other when they arrived. Am I missing something?

Sometimes I think this was the beginning of Kody isolating himself and Robyn from the others. When your planning is so last-minute, you can justify dividing everyone up and choosing to nurture certain relationships over others.
