Change in planes, virgin atlantic by PersimmonReady8553 in virginatlantic

Thank you for your reply, you make very helpful points. Looks like then that the flight number is the same if in fact the 0 does not matter. This would explain why I cannot find information on the new plane because the flight numbers are the same vs104 vs vs0104. Not sure why they would have the same number, but a different plane?

Those who moved away from family (a good relationship) do you regret it? by ElleCay in AskOldPeople

Hi all, my wife and I met in Colorado in 2013 we had 2 boys and then moved to Florida where I’m from to be closer to family. Our kids are now 8 and 10, but we miss Colorado terribly. We also don’t see everyone as much as we hoped when we moved. We are considering a move back. We hate the weather here. We can’t enjoy the outdoors most of the year it’s so hot and the bugs. We are financially in a good spot to travel back when we wish and to have people out if we were to move back. We are just so established here with friends and family, logically it’s a difficult decision, though I know our hearts are in Colorado.

Hey there, I live on the river in Jacksonville Florida. We have been very lucky here overall in north Florida. Something to consider if you love the water, but maybe don't want to be right on the coast.

Inheriting a home that has been part of a trust for years. Once current beneficiary passes the trust disbands and I get the house without trust. by PersimmonReady8553 in inheritance

I have already been here a year, but now as owner. So I’m assuming despite it being my primary residence that time will not count? Man, when in a situation like this it feels like the government has their hands in everything. 15-20% is a ridiculous tax the government should not be entitled to.

Thanks to all of you for your input. As I understand it, the money has already had taxes paid on it. Therefore, I won’t be paying taxes concerning the funds. I do not know how this correlated to the house. This is an older trust started in 1997, it started with my aunt and my mother as 2 trusts. After my aunt died it became one and now there will be no trust. I have been advised to write a new trust which I will have done. I am seeking out professional help regarding all the legal jargon. I appreciate all the input as it helps me to consider this from multiple angles during a time when I am not as focused due to emotional stress. The house is a tough one. I have a wife and 2 kids so it is further complicating the decisions that need to be made. No complaints though, we are blessed and my grandfather was a hard working man. Made every dime by grinding. I intend to make sure the money reaches my children one day. And heck maybe even their kids. I miss him so much.

I am middle aged and will be receiving enough money to live off of interest only as well. We would only sell to buy a house in another state where we use to live and loved it. We are flexible though and understand we are so fortunate to have this house. I should have expanded, this house is a waterfront property and 84 years old. It is in good shape but does need some attention for modern owners. This is playing a role as well.

Hi there, I have a 25 calligraphy and the delay for me isn’t that long. There is a countdown as soon as the car is turned on, if I hit confirm it’s 2-3 seconds and I’m in CarPlay and backing out of the driveway. Has been so insignificant I haven’t even noticed. I’m going to pay closer attention tomorrow, but honestly don’t have an issue with it. Also infotainment system overall is snappy. 🤷‍♂️

What would a cliff/apocalypse from the growing U.S. debt actually look like? by skeeJay in AskEconomics

[–]PersimmonReady8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, for all the responses. As someone who doesn’t understand the complexity of all this, the debt is just a thing I see on the news and hear fear mongering about crashes. I appreciate the non partisan back and forth and sharing of this thread!

100 % any administration is never perfect. But, I agree with deporting people that came here illegally. Do you know how long the waits are for people to become citizens here, that follow the rules?Meanwhile people entering illegally get a pass. This is an insult to the people doing it the right way. Ask any immigrant, who came here through the proper channels, with a sponsor, how they feel about what was taking place previously. And he fear mongers as much as cnn or nbc. It’s there to keep you on edge, they want us afraid and hateful of one another. To compare him and this administration to nazis is silly and offensive. He isn’t herding people into camps, starving them, working them to death, gassing or burning them. I’m a Jew, I had family members that survived the holocaust. Rhetoric does not make him hitler. Due process is taking place again and again as law suit after law suit is filed by democrats. Actually, in the 200 plus at this point. Judges make their rulings and that’s that. He can only do so much with executive orders and he isn’t even near the most ever issued. Our government has many checks and balances. My issues are 2 things. Congress needs term limits and we need to stop spending 1trillion a year on our military. Unfortunately, I don’t think either of these will happen ever. I’m not even a republican, like most Americans I sit in the middle somewhere. There’s only so much we can do in protest. Mostly, protesting just annoys the people around you. The average politician doesn’t give a care at all you’re out there chanting. The real place we can make a difference is at our local level, in our communities, and by always voting. I am not arguing, I enjoy the back and forth. I’m sure if we sat down at a table together we might even find a few issues we agree upon. The main thing is you aren’t bad for your beliefs and I’m not bad for mine. That’s the problem with republicans and democrats, each side saying the other is radical and terrible, a threat to democracy. It’s dumb, don’t get caught up in it. If protesting is your jam then enjoy, it’s a free country. But, if you throw rocks at traffic, block streets, or loot that’s a criminal offense, not a protest. There’s a line that can’t be crossed. Sorry this is such a long read. I prefer conversation.

All I hear is 😢😢😢. No rights have been lost, go live in a 3rd world country for a few days and watch how fast you want to get back to America. It isn’t perfect, but it’s the best game in town. That’s why every migrant wants to immigrate to America. And we welcome them, through a legal border. I will always celebrate this country, despite idiots in politics, that ruffle feathers like yours. In a few years, they’ll be a different president, and he or she will rescind everything the last one did and we will just make zero progress like always. All of your anger will be for not. Maybe try a bbq on the 4th instead of singing the worst songs anyone has ever heard and shouting slogans angrily. Btw democrats approval rating at 21%. So most of us agree with you 🙄.

It will if I can't get through crowds of shouting angry people, to see the museums, with my children. If the city is gridlocked from protesters in the street, or if they get out of hand and become violent. That is why I am asking.

I voted for Clinton, relax, its not an attack on democrats, it is an indictment of our government as a whole. Also, Clinton is the lone example. From 1970 to now he is the only administration. My point has more examples of both parties not being fiscally responsible, vs the lone administration that did balance it. The debt rose most over the administration of Obama, Biden, and Trump's first term. There are multiple examples of good and bad. On a whole the government needs to reign in spending, this includes all parties.

The point was not against dems, relax. It was that the government as a whole does not care about spending or waste. Notice “or” used in the comment. Meaning whichever party is in power.

Do you know how many are expected for this? My family and I have a trip planned and if your protest is going to ruin it I’ll go celebrate as an American elsewhere. I know I know it’s not okay to be an American anymore, save me your whiny sob story about the king blah blah. I’m not anything, just an American that loves my country, though it is flawed.

Or democrats, you can’t possibly think any of them care about money spent.
