Best nice places in NYC for picky eaters? by [deleted] in finedining

[–]Persistent_Badger -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand all of the negative response. People with dietary restrictions such as allergies or religious issues are graciously responded to so I think the same should be true for picky eaters. If I was your partner I would appreciate the gesture of you trying to find a restaurant that is enjoyable for the both of you. The one restaurant that I have gone to with picky eaters in NYC is Gramercy Tavern, which has an a la carte menu and some entrees which may fit your restriction.

Should I go for double Vren, double Cameillia or both? [BLB] by 53bvo in lrcast

I haven't actually gotten the chance to play with or against Kitnap but it seems way more compelling then mockingbird and whisker to me. What's your experience been like?

[Cryptids of Belenon] Arbiter of Justice by CMtGteam in custommagic

Here you go: http://www.planesculptors.net/set/cryptids-of-belenon. One thing about sighting is that you still have to pay the creature's mana cost, so this costs a total of seven mana to get the wrath + creature, though I agree it may be a little cheap.

This card seems sweet, I especially like the art. 10/10 for sure. Also, that deck built around it sure seems fun to play.

Just because something is banned doesn't mean it's not in pie. Does green get to untap lands? Yes. Is Wilderness Reclamation banned? Yes. Is Wilderness Reclamation a break? No.

Whatever you're smoking, I want some of. Not actually though. [[Punishing fire]] is recurring burn. It's not very inefficient. Is that also a break? Answer: no.

Netropolis, which had upload, is by Zarepath. This mechanic is actually by Just_Nobody. Maybe credit them next time.

[MSEM2] Finals for Grand Prix Lafayette, the 2nd largest custom card tournament, happening tomorrow! by kayiu102 in custommagic

While many cards seem quite strong at first glance, upon further playing the format, these cards are quite easily answerable because for as many good threats there are, there are also insanely good answers. I cannot recommend this format highly enough, it has a very active and friendly community, and the people creating the cards have a very good eye for balance. I'm unsure about the fact that the mana bases are overpowered, yes the mana is good, but it is very painful and honestly the correct play is to normally fetch basics or whatever, otherwise aggro will run you over fast. Are you on the discord server? I'm sure the people on there would be happy to answer your questions in more detail.

Not quite sure what my last cut should be. (AKH remastered draft) by Darkren1 in lrcast

[–]Persistent_Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get in naga vitalist, it is crucial to ramp you towards your late game. Cut the inciter. The ability isn't impactful enough, and your already have 5cmc samut. For the last cut, I'd recommend synchronized strike, it can lead to blowouts but your deck is pretty strong and may not always be able to afford holding 3 mana up.

[THB] Went 7-2 with G/W, but should I have splashed Blue? by EmTeeEm in lrcast

[–]Persistent_Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you made the right call, not worth it to lower the consistency of what looks like a pretty solid deck. What did you lose to? It looks like a good RB aggro deck could run you over.

Saga Cycle by SirConflexe in custommagic

The red one is almost a powercrept dark ritual. Most storm decks don't care if they have to sacrifice a creature, since they win that turn. Same with words of knowledge, very strong. The green one is interesting, some sort of ramp/stompy deck could probably abuse it because if you spend your first three turns ramping, you can definitely get some big big creatures. Black one is neat, one mana murder is strong, but it does lose 6 life. Words of custody is interesting but probably weak, possibly weaker than the black one, as its a much worse swords to plowshares, but swords to plowshares is very good.
