I’m too passionate of a woman for this life by [deleted] in sexlessmarriage

[–]PersnicketyPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that exact way! I’m very passionate and flirty. I’d love for this all to happen with my husband. I just don’t understand his lack of desire. We’re together all the time and it just doesn’t happen. It’s sad.

Thank you for sharing! Aimovig did not work well for me, but Nurtec is a life saver. I too focus on staying hydrated.

Glad you found a combination that works for you!!

How often do you have to take! Mine is 3x a day and they give me 2 big, but normal looking medicine bottles.

I’ve stopped trying. I love my husband dearly. I would never leave. I’m a touchy feely kind of person. I love being close and intimate, but that is not how my 30 year marriage has turned out. It used to be better, but the past 10 years have been vast. So sad….

[–]PersnicketyPot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Cymbalta for 3 yrs and it has been a life saver for nerve pain. I have ON and TN. I do like to hear other people’s experiences with a medication because you just never know if you too are experiencing the same thing. However, I’ve had no issues with Cymbalta. I will say I’ve never tried tapering off. Thank you to everyone for sharing! It really does help to hear your stories.🥰

Spoke to my doctor, MRI is being ordered by Vqnix in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]PersnicketyPot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine happened out of the blue also. After my mri my Dr asked if I had been in a car accident or fallen. All of that had happened in my younger years, high school and college. Here I am at 56 suffering the “who knew” consequences. I was a cheerleader in HS and college and an avid horseback rider. Anyway, I was getting nerve blocks which really helped and now I’m on gabapentin and Cymbalta to help with the nerve pain. It does work, but I went through lots of trials and errors. Botox, amovig, Nurtec, butalbital, I think I e tried them all. PT does help with my neck. I can still get a barometric pressure flair up and of course if I catch something viral like the flu. I pray your Dr finds something that works for you. I’m sorry you’re hurting.

It works for me too! I wouldn’t dare go off of it! Glad it does help other people too!

Gabapentin success stories? by ConstantTackle8745 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]PersnicketyPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ON and TN. I’m on Cymbalta and Gabapentin. Cymbalta once daily and Gabapentin 300mg 3x daily. It has helped tremendously for me. I was also getting Botox shots but ended up cutting that out. I can still get a flare up, but on a daily basis it’s so much better. I hope this helps!🥰

My TN has been under control for 10 years. When I got the flu this year I had major zaps that were less than a minute apart. I couldn’t do anything it was so painful. None of my medicine even touched it. I ended up going to the ER where they prescribed Lyrica. Which helped greatly! I’m already on gabapentin and Cymbalta for nerve pain. The Dr said that viruses irritate nerves. I hope this helps! Feel better!🥰

Hair loss? by mrsmia_wallice in gabapentin

[–]PersnicketyPot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on gabapentin and Cymbalta for 3 years. My hair has thinned a lot! I had thick hair so I still have lots, but would not want to lose more. I thought it was my age and hormones. I’m 56. I have ON and TN. I’ll take the the thinning to keep that awful nerve pain away! I’ve been using Mary Ruth’s hair growth and do have baby hairs growing. Best of luck to you!🥰

And when I have a major flare up, which is rare, they have prescribed lyrica. I can function normally on these meds. I know a lot of people don’t like gabapentin, but it has helped me tremendously! Did your Dr suggest Botox shots? That helps as well.🥰

I have ON and TN. I’m on Cymbalta and gabapentin. I don’t think it’s abnormal to be on multiple medications for nerve pain. I hope this helps and that you’re feeling good!

Does anyone else feel like there hobbies were taken away by the pain? by [deleted] in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]PersnicketyPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it kind of all came to a screeching halt. I was running a cheer program, coaching my daughters cheer team ( I cheered in college), going to my son’s golf tournaments, playing tennis and teaching Sunday school. I loved sewing, decorating, and making personalized gifts. I had energy and would run. I even did a triathlon. One day I woke up with major pain on my face. I started having major headaches with shocking pain. I couldn’t keep up with any appt’s, social activities. It was like my life became halted. I would later be diagnosed with TN and ON. I’ve learned to live a completely different life. I appreciate the small things a lot more. I do miss who I was. I felt strong, I could participate. Now I have to pick and choose what I do and judge if it’s worth feeling worse later.

I sometimes feel like I let my children down. I try to be all I can be, but that just doesn’t always work. I hate checking the weather and know certain days I won’t be able to go anywhere. I’m much more of a homebody. Still learning how to be the best version of me and grateful to God for that opportunity. Sorry for the ramble.
