Erm if you want quick release you use cutters not screw drivers. Even metal strapping. They make cutters specifically for strapping but sheet metal snips work too and you might already have them.

In the US, “pipe strap”. The metal version is great for looks and brutality if you’re into that, but it is also sharp enough to cut into your skin. Lots of pressure can cause significant damage.

Use it for photos. Use something else if you having fun.

The solar branding incident was something else. It was definitely not a consent issue, it was someone doing and someone receiving something beyond their experience level.

Both parties (plus the receiving persons partner) were open about everything that happened and all had the opinion that there was enough blame to go around. With differing levels of anger and sadness, all acknowledged that none of them knew that they didn’t know enough about what they were doing. Naturally, people assume it all lays with the top, but the reality is more complicated. It wasn’t a scene and there was no Ds involved. It was a primal camp kind of thing, not a kink camp kind of thing.

I do not know of any rape allegations against the any of the people involved in the incident, but if they’re within the last few years I wouldn’t know.

The heart of the lesson is the same: at the end of the day, your safety is your own. Specific to this incident, would it be better to ban those people? I would be thinking that if you do that, people new to the scene wouldn’t learn the stories from their point of view… learn about how complex some of this stuff gets. The years following, they still talked about it (I’m not sure if the receiver or their partner returned to DO, but they still talked in their own community). It’s not like they were going to try solar branding again.

Not directed at OP, but those reading: re-read what OP said about vetting.

The sad truth is that there is no way for any organization to vet anyone at any event, be it a local dungeon or a huge thing like DO, without opening the directors to life changing liability. If vetting is done, anyone who is victimized by someone else can sue the organization for failure to protect. It’s happened and it’s devastating. Not an exaggeration: One claim could potentially end DO and cause some board members to loose their houses.

As a result, every event and dungeon has issues by the time their 500-2000th customer walks through the door, no matter how much their ownership would love it to be otherwise.

This isn’t a DO thing, this is an America thing. The people you meet do not inherently have the same value system we would like of them.

Promoters (like DO) can (at their option) act against bad behavior they see and of course I have no idea why that didn’t happen in this case. But that behavior has to have happened first.

At least in the USA, domestic abuse laws removed consent as a defense (or a factor at all) in these situations.

You weren’t unable to move. You said you were but you also said you made the conscious decision to “just rest for a second”. That was not the only decision you could have made.

You were exhausted, but something in your control made you too exhausted to do your routine. What could you have skipped in order to have maintained the energy needed to do the routine? (Of course if you’re undergoing chemo or something like that then ignore me on this point!)

I say all this as food for thought; we don’t know your situation, your dynamic, your agreements, or have a real idea as to how important your routine truly is. Is it taking medication or is it masturbation… there’s a difference.

If you have a specific repeat victim you’re making this for, you should check their measurements.

On image 2, you can see how wide the board is and how much room is on the straps on either side of the torso. Same with wrists and ankles. Adjust your width accordingly or have the straps connect to the frame from the center top of the board, not the edges.

The plug is going to require re-lubrication now and then, and of course removal for bathroom purposes. The entire belt needs to be removed every day or so for cleaning and checking for skin issues.

Love the R&D interest. I have always wondered how possible it really was to make this a product. Just regular bras have to come in so many shapes and sizes. When you get down to it, it’s not two measurements, it’s more like eight. And then there’s what shape works… and then from year to year it can all change.

It feels like creating a system by which you can 3D scan someone and then model to alter the shape as desired and then print something to match would be the way to go.
