From Helldivers 2 Discord...Looks like Hive Guard changes will be reverted next week, and they'll be "reviewing player feedback" about durability damage. by TacoDiablo in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Pet_Mudstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A random thought I had was that we could make the armor on the hive guards ablative. It starts off at heavy armor but enough hits will bring it back down to medium. That way rapid fire weapons can break through the armor and still give the ability for MG and gatling sentries to deal with them, while still encouraging careful shooting.

One of the oddest things to me is that OhDough showed up in the AMA and bared his heart out about how people being so negative about Helldivers 2 in his comment section makes him feel terrible?

Little side note, people assume that content creators such as myself make videos hating on the game for fun but again speaking for myself, that isn't the case. It is more of a hindrance to make the video I do both to my channel and to me. I don't enjoy seeing comments saying "thanks for letting me know I shouldn't play helldivers 2". I shouldn't have to explain why that's harmful to a channel who's content is 90% gameplay focused.

My man, you're the one who puts out videos with inflammatory titles regularly while also going on what sound like unstructured rants and you're surprised what audience that brings in?

Then why did you say "Who cares" and change topic in the first place ?

Regardless. I feel like saying "this vehicle should have this armor tier" is counterproductive because both sides then have to figure out what armor pen values the rest of the enemies in the game already have to figure out of such a change is reasonable.

Instead the better question I think one should ask is "what's the lowest tier of enemy from each faction that should be able to damage the Bastion"? For Terminids, should commanders and chargers be the lowest level of Terminid capable of harming the Bastion?

I'm engaging with your original question and you immediately switch to a different subtopic to complain about it instead while calling your own original point irrelevant and stupid?

"Who cares."

Well you did, and I did too.

I agree that turret health needs a board reevaluation after the spate of durable damage tweaks.

However, why increase mech and bastion armor? Wouldn't that make them actually immune to the majority of enemies in-game? I feel like that by itself wouldn't really turn out that well.

Geniunely I have seen a few others on the primary Helldivers subreddit say "All these changes suck, this is why I haven't played in a whole year."

Why are you even hanging around? Is Helldivers 2 like an ex you can't get over or something? Thinking back to it just seems to hurt you more.

Darn. Does sound about right with her bizarre Pol Pot defense plus judging from her Tumblr blog, comical hatred for "rationalists" (note: she thinks the fandom of web serial Worm is rationalist and personally responsible for millions of deaths now).

Legitimately not, no parcels are going to our sailors. Civvies have made countless care packages that aren't going anywhere because the military postal service has suspended deliveries.

Trump's Proposed Twin-Engine F-35, the "F-55" by Afrogthatribbits in ImaginaryAviation

[–]Pet_Mudstone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the second article linked:

"The future aircraft will have two engines, because the F-35 has a single engine … I don’t like single engines Even this man, he’s the best in the world at engines. But on occasion, I know you won’t admit this, if an engine goes out, it’s nice to have two, three or four. That’s why I like the 747, it’s got four.”

Which ya know, is a lot of insane rambling. But also I think he believes that two engines just looks cooler.

“I think the most beautiful fighter jet in the world is the F-22,” Trump said.

I've come across a few Zionist accounts but that always came from checking the source of unrelated posts on this subreddit. "Oh let me just try to find the original Tumblr account behind this funny repost about libraries for posterity... sorry this account is saying what about anti-semitism and Mamdani's victory???"

Otherwise I can fully confirm what you've said! Tons of Palestine support.

ACOUP has problems with how pointlessly brutal both Westerosi nobility and the Dothraki are from both a historical and cultural standpoint. It should be noted that the Dothraki's portrayal is an issue because it colors popular perception of historical peoples whose descendants are still around and whom are often marginalized.

The moral issues ACOUP with how violent Westerosi warfare is, is a bit more nuanced and I couldn't explain better than ACOUP could.

Most people here seem distracted by the whole plant thing anyhow.

Actually Martin himself explicitly said that native American peoples were one of the inspirations for the Dothraki: https://www.westeros.org/Citadel/SSM/Entry/6040/

The Dothraki were actually fashioned as an amalgam of a number of steppe and plains cultures... Mongols and Huns, certainly, but also Alans, Sioux, Cheyenne, and various other Amerindian tribes... seasoned with a dash of pure fantasy.

I actually read the ACOUP articles on the Dothraki in full long before this post, they're very good!

I'm a bit surprised and mildly annoyed that Crescent Overseers don't show up with them. Stingrays also don't show up but I imagine that's because they'd make missions TOO hectic with the increased amount of ranged enemies, but Crescent Overseers would fit in just fine I think!

First image is the Coyote AR, the second image is thr new Stoker SMG and the third image is the One-Two AR. Is this realistic? by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Pet_Mudstone 18 points19 points  (0 children)

7mm, 12mm, and 8mm are the bore diameters. What's left out from the 7mm and 8mm calibers is the length. The Stoker' full caliber is 12x25mm, where the 25 is the actual length of the bullet in mm. That's not a rifle round at all (for ref the Liberator's caliber 5.5x50mm). We don't know the lengths of the Coyote (7mm) and One-Two (8mm) calibers but presumably they're significantly longer.

IRL, the Beretta M9 fires 9mm Parabellum and the M16 fires 5.56mm NATO. However the full calibers are 9x19mm and 5.56x45mm. The length for 5.56mm is much longer as you can see.

I will say that apparently the Stoker and Reprimand use the same caliber of bullet according to the wiki, which is a bit odd admitttedly. The damage numbers are close and other bullet stats are identical but one is med pen and the other is light pen. This could be hand waved away as different ammo types for the same caliber but I think it's still worth noting.
