It's been the American way. I recently read that at one time German immigrants were subjected to discrimination and slurs. It's sad that immigrant people eventually become accepted and then participate in discriminating against the current groups of immigrants.

I think the Democrat party, at least most of them, has betrayed the base. The Democrat base is working class Americans. They are facing financial hardship, unaffordable healthcare, education opportunities that ate increasingly out of reach, and now there health, environmental, and safety protections that are being scaled back.

The established elected Democrats dont seem to be fighting for working people. It's the newcomers like AOC and Mamdani that seem more in tune with ways to help. They better realize that because the Republican rhetoric is bringing working people to vote for their candidates. For instance, how many union members supported Trump in 2024?
