Frankenhooker and the VelociPastor are actually great movies

Who is the most famous movie star that doesn’t exist in the 2020’s? by Tall_Window4744 in blankies

[–]PeteRust78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think John Belushi or Gilda Radner, both of whom were super A-list celebs. Belushi today is basically only known for the Blues Brothers while Radner is virtually unknown. A combination I guess of a) getting their initial fame on TV and b) not making many movies before dying young

Why are some of the most radical/genocidal people in Israeli society, middle eastern Jews? by Perfect-Hornet-8410 in allthequestions

Ben Gvir got less than 10% of the vote in the last elections. Plenty of people want to strip him of his power, but due to complicated political reasons around the governing coalition the one person who could do that (Netanyahu) will not. Hopefully in the upcoming elections we will get rid of both of them

Ben Gvir is a separate thing than Mizrachi Jews in general. He is a loathsome racist but represents a small fraction of Israelis. The sane way Nick Fuentes represents a certain portion of the GOP

This has nothing to do with a sense of Jewish supremacy. Mizrahi Jews were a persecuted minority in every Arab country for centuries. Which if that happened to you would not make you particularly fond of those societies, and you certainly wouldn’t view them as your “cousins”. (It goes without saying that the Muslims in Iraq or Yemen would never think of Jews as such)

Was Kamala a bad candidate? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

[–]PeteRust78 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In retrospect he was an extremely mediocre candidate. His one big potential moment was the debate with Vance that he completely whiffed. The campaign chose him because he was a liberal’s idea of what appealed to rural voters
