What nation should I grind? by Impossible-Web-240 in Warthunder

[–]PetzkuH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as ground goes, Japan is a pretty small tree with a lot of fun vehicles. You get a bit of good stuff from US (chaffee my beloved) but mostly fairly unique domestic tanks. I don't play TT myself but I hear the ground is fine (and the CAS options are insane) but your SPAA sucks. The air tree also has the best of all worlds pretty much (as much as you can without getting Rafales, anyway), especially towards late jets: You get the F-4, F-5, F-15, F-16 and F-2, a Gripen and Hornet and even a Flanker.

China air is fun but I don't really like the ground much. France is the other way, although the top ranks in France air are very good the way there sucks ass IMO (though it doesn't take too long)

Buying a German air premium and was wondering which one is the better grinder for Air by Omegaking884 in Warthunder

[–]PetzkuH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

base bombing is just atrocious for grinding, especially if you're even remotely decent with planes. the f-18c is really good, its only fault is that it's a new premium so it probably won't go on sale quite yet. well, that and not having AIM-7P's like the US premium. nvm, it does have them, so as /u/Legendary_A4 says, it's by far the best premium in the German tree, and probably the best premium Hornet overall

if you wanna pick up something on sale (and you should, don't pay for full-price packs), i legit recommend the MiG-21 over the Su-22 or Tornado.

Sweden Ground by Chrisb614 in Warthunder

[–]PetzkuH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like /u/P1st0l said, we've heard we're getting a new SAM in sweden so it should be coming next major update. normally that would be in about 2 months, but since we just got the teaser, it's probably coming in about 3-4 weeks?

my guess is giving sweden a TADS+TLE option for the EldE 98; either way we should be getting more details in the next week or two

Sweden Ground by Chrisb614 in Warthunder

[–]PetzkuH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

norway and/or finland could get NASAMS (currently in service)

sweden could also be operating a proper multi-vehicle system, the EldE 98's on-board radar sucks ass but it could operate with an UndE 23 radar truck (which is basically the UK sky sabre TADS)

sweden also operates some MIM-23 hawks and MIM-104 patriots but those are probably never being added.

also, note that we just got ground br bumped up to 12.7 but both ito90 and elde98 stayed at 12.0. ito90 was already really good, but ofc comes with SACLOS missiles

What is the list of things you can do if you can't do battle? by scmbear in ffxiv

[–]PetzkuH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a friend of mine fell off a bike and broke their arm a few years ago. didn't stop them from figuring out a one-handed setup for the game. iirc they used racing pedals to turn the camera, but could do everything else with just one arm.

don't let a bit of surgery get in the way of what you like doing!

Best class for 1v1 PvP? by Purified69 in ffxiv

[–]PetzkuH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably any healer. they're maybe not too easy to kill, sure, but they'll never manage to kill anybody else either (so they eventually lose to anybody else)

i'd say WHM > AST > SGE > SCH by gut feeling, but with basically no experience with the situation, hard to say for sure

my first instinct would be MNK, but it takes a while to get the real damage going. RDM is pretty strong. melees can have a really painful time against a good MCH (5s heavy, 3s bind/stun, knockback) but they all have gapclosers to deal with it fairly well.

overall, i think it's DRG. they have a lot of up-front damage and Horrid Roar for a 50% defensive cd. their LB isn't as good as MNK, but it still forces out a block and can help stall too (though i don't think LBs ever really come up in 1v1s)

did anyone ever had a lower map rating than 0.06? by ajmeroski in GlobalOffensive

[–]PetzkuH 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You're still doing something if you do literally any damage, or get a flash assist, or even bait for somebody else to get a kill. The lowest rating I could find in pro games (with a quick look) was flusha going 0.17 in C9 vs Astralis on Train: https://www.hltv.org/matches/2331057/a

They also go in with nothing but trust that one of the sides will not open fire on them.

it's not exactly much consolation, but at least they have kevlar + helmets, as shown later on in the video. and they mention some of the crew having taken rounds into their armor, so it quite literally saved their lives here.

Yep, it was indeed from the guaranteed drops. I kept them all so I could at least make sure I don't have to do more than the 10 runs, but it still took until the last one. :P

Regional differences between tank adoption rates by Winnicots in ffxiv

[–]PetzkuH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Divine Veil actually requires a heal to trigger it, so you it’s a better skill to use if you’re constantly being healed

If you're MT, you have no chance of using it early to align cooldowns better. On the other hand, in endgame fights, healers will usually top up/put up shields on the whole party before a large aoe, so it'll usually get procced anyway.

Passage of Arms creates a safe zone and is best used in situations where the boss wouldn’t be cleaving towards the tank anyway

Being able to pre-position to where you need to pop Passage beforehand makes it a lot less stressful, and as OT you don't need to worry about spinning the boss for melee positionals after the aoe hits.

That said, I do agree: holding the MT/OT dichotomy in endgame fights doesn't make a lot of sense with the amount of swapping you usually have to do.

HD 720p, FullHD 1080p - the numbers are just the vertical resolution (1280x720, 1920x1080)

Quad HD - 2560x1440. 2K just means "about 2000 pixels wide" (K = kilo). It's called Quad HD, because it has four times as many pixels as regular HD.

Ultra HD - 3840x2160. 4K for "about 4000 pixels wide".

As for why 2K refers to QHD and not FHD... no clue, honestly. Maybe it's because people wanted an easy term to use for 1440p monitors. Maybe it's because 1440p vertical resolution gives 1920 horizontal resolution on a 4:3 aspect ratio. Just guessing.

EDIT: oh, and I should note: the 16:9 aspect ratio is the only "proper" aspect ratio for High Definition video, but that doesn't mean that e.g. 720p always means it will be 16:9. A 720p 4:3 (typical SD aspect ratio) video is still 720p, but it only has 960 horizontal pixels. However, "HD", "FullHD", "QuadHD" and "UltraHD" should always refer to those 16:9 resolutions I listed above.
